stock zx-14 1/8 mile track help!!!
Hey guys............new to the forum........just bought a new zx-14. Took it to the track to do a little testing. Best pass all night 6.70/113 mph/1.76 60 ft. Fighting weelies most of the passes. I lowered both the front and rear of the bike so far "no strap" and pump 87 gas. Im leaving around 4500-5000 rpm sliding the hell outta the clutch. my question is for a better 60 around what rpm should i be leaving at? I also bought a front end strap today ill be putting on before i head out to the dragstrip. Also any other racing tips regarding the 1400 would be helpful.

Put the strap on the front. And drop you rpms. Try 3000 or 3500 to launch. Thats what I use and Im getting low 1.50's

You have the 2ndary flies in or out? I would have thought 3-3.5k is too low with flies in.

Correct, flies in need to stage at 6000 and KEEP it above that, just when you think you can let the clutch go it will bog if below 5500-6000 rpm then the hit with the flies opening will wheelie you...
Remove the flies... way more predictable and alot less clutch abuse.
16 tooth will allow you to let the clutch go at 3500-4000 dependant on rider weight, and hammer the throttle wide open.
If your a flyweight >150 lbs 17 tooth may be better.
