Kawasaki centerstand installed with Leo Vince 4-2-1 exhaust...

Guys:

I just installed the Kawasaki accessory centerstand on my bike with no clearance problems for the full 4-2-1 Leo Vince exhaust I have on the bike. The stand weighs > 5 lbs and together with the LV exhaust weigh about the same as one OEM muffler bank (14 lbs). A $10 chromed bracket with a rubber damper is the "trick" part (see photo # 3).

Why do it? Way easier to lube the chain, do maintence on the bike and I take trips where you need to do this stuff in a motel parking lot or some gas station in the middle of nowhere...

Stand up photos....

GT87NOS:

Here you go with stand up photos:I

'm not wild about the look from the left side, but the maintenance benefits far out weigh the look. Will be testing the ground clearance in the next couple of weeks to see whether that's an issue in the street. Hasn't been so far, but I have really flicked it over hard since the stand went on.

Ride safe.....

Is this something the dealer has to order for you? Cost?
Did it come with the chrome stop?
Picking up my 14 tomorrow and would like to get one or order it.
Thanks,
Jack

Centerstand setup....

Boss 69:

The centerstand is a Kawasaki part which your dealer will almost certainly have to order as I doubt its a stock item. Retail is about $200 depending on your area and dealer. The chome stop is not a dealer part, it was something my tuner had laying around in his shop and modified for this application. The stand bolts up with no issues for the OEM exhaust and wouldn't need the chrome stop if that is your setup.

If you are running a aftermarket pipe other than LV ask you manufacturer. I posted the centerstand photos believing others would want to do the same once they saw it in place. Based on my experience, your probably ok with the pipe styles that tuck in decently. The key area is clearance around the bottom rear shock mount where the chrome bracket is fitted and where the stand would come up in a level plane.

If you are in or near Florida I can put you in touch with my tuner for the chrome stop which includes a very slick rubber damper so the stand goes up without a sound.

Ride Safe.....

Stands are cheaper....reply

bigdtd:

No doubt you can find stands cheaper than my install. I did it for mobility and convenience. I wouldn't be able carry stands on the bike on road trips.....

thx.

Great info LeoVinceZX14.

My stand is on order and was wondering how to fit it with my Leo Vince System. Did you have to remove the lower rear fairing, looks like it?

Anyway...awesome looking bike. Pull the flies and remap. It was much easier that I expected. Guess all the hype about stripped and dropped screws...

Run the bike up to warm, like for an oil change.

Pull all the fairing crap off as desribed throughout the forum. Get a 8" #2 philips screwdriver. A high quality brand new one. Get a magnetizer and magetize it. Have a retreaval magnet handy too. Place the screw driver in position and using a rubber mallet, rap it three or four times firmly. Then slowly loosen the screw. Loosen all eight before removing, that way if you do run into trouble, you can simple tighten back down.. I used a 6" pair of needle nose to pull the plates out. Took longer to pull the fairings, tank, etc, then to do the job.

I used the Leo Vince 4-2 with PC3 mapped by motofuel, until I can get to a dyno, with flies out. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep us posted.

Let me know if you want info on the chrome bracket......

V2K_CCTX:

You are correct. The lower belly pan is a goner. it takes up the space where the stand will come up. You will need the chrome bracket (picture #3) with its included rubber damper to limit the upper travel of your stand so it does not contact the chain....ouch. !!! Since we have the same exhaust no other clearance issues should arise.

HI ALL

got a new pair of Scorpion for my ZZR1400. I took out the db-killers before I
put then on the bike. I wonder what you all mean with "flies out"??? Is it just
that the db-killers are out of the muflers???
Next Q....anyone tried out with a T.R.E with gearindicator? it´s supposed to give
stronger midrange power.
Does this product need a PCIII and benchmapping to work ok??
Pros & Cons??
Estimated rwhp finally??

Tanx in advance

Roger, mine works pretty good with a map you can find on the PCIII website. It's the 'Muzzy slipons with NO flies' map.
I have that map with TRE006A(for flies out).

How much were the grab handles on the sides? I assume you're in the States?

Grab handles reply.....

14Black:

Yes I am in Florida. The grab handle on the left side visible in the photos is included with the Kawasaki centerstand part order. Note that you will have to remove the tail section to access the bolt holes the grab handle attaches to. Retail from a dealer is around $200 for the stand, grab handle and related hardware.

I've just received the SW Motech version of this stand through the post....over here, the Kawasaki stand was £168.00!!(That's approx $300.00) Who said we're not "tucked up" in the UK????
The SW Motech one comes without the grab handle but only costs £92.00 (about $175.00).
I have been told that the only messing around I will have to do with it is to cut the bracket from the original can and get it welded on to my Area P's to enable the rubber "stop" to be installed.
I'll let you know how I get on!!

Was going to install the center stand, but decided not to. Its for sale in the sale section. Didn't want to give up the ground clearance and it doesn't work with my aftermarket exhaust.
