Will Kawasaki Respond for '08?
So what will Kawasaki do now that the '08 Hayabusa has been announced.
Increase horspower by 2, beating the Hayabusa by 1?
Increase compresion to 12.5 to 1?
Increase throttle boddies by 2mm?
Slight tweak in the computer?
Sit back and wait to see if the new Hayabusa is any quicker?
Restyle the rear end of the '14 to be even uglier than the new Hayabusa?......is this possible?
The ZX-14 has tons of untapped potential, a small investment by Kawasaki could easily surpass the new Hayabusa if in fact they need to.

Kawi is going to stun the motorcycle world by adding a second cooling fan.
That will show those Busa Bums. :P

No changes I bet. Suzuki probably makes their hp claim based on the 14's. I'm guessing Kawasaki won't change until the Busa has a decisive advantage.

When do you guys think that we will see a closed-loop feedback fuel injection system on any of our Kawasaki sportbikes? SOrry Power Commander owners, share holders, etc.

Just slap on the pipe and Hi-flow airfiler and BAMMMMM!!!! No Power commander and special dynoing for optimum performance. Politics Politics Politics though as a lot of money would be lost to those manufacturers of the commander type systems and tuners.

Meh, instead of focusing on power, I'd say further feature and handling refinement would kick ass. Power was never something Kawasakis were hurting for.

Likely not for a long time. The system we have is primitive, simple and meets emission requirements, which was of greater concern than performance or end-user tuning. And I hate to tell you, even if it was closed you still have to tune the ECU program for optimal WOT stoich.

"share holders"
You can research KHI review financial statements allowing you to make more accurate statements. http://www.khi.co.jp/overview/index_e.html
No matter what KHI does, it won't affect investors. Bikes are such a minuscule portion of the business.
KHI is a research and technology, heavy equipment, and industrial company. For example, not only do they design and manufacturer aerospace, ships, and trains, they make the equipment that moves the earth, and make the heavy equipment that build the factories that build the aerospace, ships, and trains. A specific fuel injection system on their bikes, atv, watercraft won't account for enough portion of the business to matter to the bottom line. Not even bikes sales matter.

Hey Stevewfl,
I meant shareholders as part of the power commanders company and affiliates of those type of product as the powercommander tuners. Badd Wording I guess. Sorry for the confusion but thanks for link as I knew that about KHI but never really expolored the site

a fan won't push me over the edge and make me wanna trade, but since its 2008 perhaps slipper clutch technology and correcting the back seat would.
I'm yawning at kawi and sazook, hopefully Honda will make something attractive. its really time to trade my '06 ZX14.

From what I've read about the new Busa, it doesn't look like Kawi needs to do anything. I dunno... Revisions are a natural part of model's evolution. I'd really like to see a slipper clutch, but the average 14 rider probably couldn't give a shit. NOW, when my plan for world domination takes hold, and everyone starts track day-ing their 14's, well then, that'll be another story. In the meanwhile, I've got a vendor working on getting a slipper clutch made for it.

I dont think any of the manufacturers want to make any real changes. They are probably more worried about backlash from conservative law makers banning high power street bikes. What kind of sales numbers do you think they would have if these were track only vehicles ?
call me paranoid, but i think that the Kawasaki Electronic Authorization system (KI-PASS)
was put on euro models to remotely shut off vehicles by police. And now we will have it in the US startng with the concours.

Track only vehicle? Who the heck said anything about that?
As far as the Kawi security system being there to allow big brother to shut down your bike.. Have you heard of it happening? It's been on the ROW bikes for years, not to mention a bunch of cars, and I've never heard of it happening.

If it were a cutting edge bike like the 600 or the 10, yes '08 would be the year.
