Brand New ZX-14 BLACK in CC TX
Hello to all,
Just bought an 07 ZX-14 Black, and rode it from Dallas to Corpus Christi the same, day. For those of you in Texas, Austin traffic sucks, esp. at rush hours. Fell in love with the bike at first sight and the wife let me get one for Father's Day. (after I mod'ed her bike all up first). We are a three bike family, his, hers and ours. Great info here and appreciate everyones input on how to make an awesome bike even better! Looking forward to "tweekin" my bike. Any suggestions, comments and lessons learned would be most appreciated.

Does anyone have a recommended list of "street mods"?
Want the bike rideable on the street and I don't drag race, enjoy the twisties more.
Looking for streetable tractable power.
Good exhaust system, intake mods and air filter/air box changes, etc.
Only mods I have done so far is steel braided lines for the brakes. Just prefer the feel.
Anyone recommend a good oil. Getting ready for first oil change.
Thank you.

i use motul oil for a long time, never had problem.
get u brock street mega and p/c 3 usb and they will map it for u too.
pull the flies out. make sure if u get brocks , to get u map for no flies.
this should be plenty to put big smile on your face.
down the road when u have the bike for a while and want to do a little more upgrades, change the gearing to 16/42.

Thanks for the input. Appreciate the feedback and hope to get some pics posted soon.
I have been out of the sportbike world for some time (last bike was a way tricked out 1986 Yamaha FZ 750 with about 117RWHP) That was alot back in 86 (showing my age).

No just a lot of custom work. Carbs, cams, intake, exhaust, shave weight off everywhere!
Full floaters with steel braided lines everywhere. Was a project bike. My senior thesis I actually designed and built an racing oil cooler for it. Was a long time ago, when I was young enough to knee drag, banzai race etc. It was a fun "project bike" and it smoked the first 900 Ninja back then!!!!!
