Motor built, but not out the woods yet.
Ok i finished building my 14 motor. I replaced bearings, seals and put the 13.5 comp pistons in it. I also went through the trans. Did that just to ck it. With everything together on the bike the motor is making a noise at the pipe. Sounds like its missing. When you rev it the noise goes away. It also idles very bad. After the choke turns off the bike shuts off unless i have it idle at 2k rpm. Im not getting any codes out of it. I went back and rechecked the timing to make sure it was correct. It wasnt making this noise the last time i rode. That was about 5 months ago. Im thinking it may be the fuel injectors. Is this common when bikes site for months. Is their any easy way of cleaning them. Any help would be thanked. Im right at the finishline. I want to ride so bad. Being down 5 months sucks

The noise at the header might be the crank balancer(s) and or the cam chain tensioner. Idle issue sounds like a vac issue as smokin stated, one of the boots between the air box & tb's might not be tight of pinche a little.

Check compression, did you do a valve job as well, could be a tight valve?

well guys this sucks. It turns out 1cylinder hit the exhaust valve. Put a hole in the piston and cracked and damaged the head on that cylinder. All the other cylinders were fine. I ck the timing 3 times. It was perfect to what it says in the book. I counted teeth and everything. I took out the plugs yesterday. They were a little gas fouled but not bent. Today this happens at about 4k rpm. I looked in the book to see if it has something in it about the valve springs ck. It says nothing. I remember when i first put oil back in the old motor. It started the same way as this one. Guys i dont no exactly what happen. Trying to found out so it doesnt happen again. What a hard lesson to learn. Now i need a piston and a head.

you didn't check the valve to piston clearance. You must always clay the motor prior to finial assymbly. Sorry to hear that you hurt the motor. The factory specs don't cover higher compression piston upgrades. you can have the head repaired, might as well have it ported. Call Coby Adams, he make be able to help you.
