the way she rides
i have recently pulled the flies and im not sure if i like it . the throttle accuracy has changed to much it is alot harder to ride a wheelie cause to much torque to fast . i do most riding street ridding , pulling the flies seem like the way to go for the drag strip but for street riding the bike is better with the flies you will also get more miles out of a tire with flies but thats my opinion .

Hmmm, to each their own I guess
I love having the flies out on the street. My passenger says its much much smoother. A little throttle control on my part and no jerkiness from the restricted intake I figure.
I dont do wheelies on public roads(I save that for the dirt) but it comes up so much easier for Me that if I did it would be much easier to maintain a 2 oclock with throttle modulation.
Maybe you might try changing your techniques and see how it goes. If not they sure are easy to put back.
Do you have it mapped for no flies? Mine had a flat spot at about 5000 rpm that would hurt wheelin. That and the leanest down low made smoothness exiting turns a somethings thing.
Now that I have it mapped its smoother down low with a outrageous hit at 7000rpm.
Kinda like having the flies back but with tons of torque everywhere!!!!!!

wow,
I like the flies out , I found it to be much more predictable for wheelies, linear response at all rpm, rather than the big hit at 6500 rpm...
to each their own I guess...
I'm not big on wheelies anyway, I like pullin awayfrom guys while they fight wheelies.
A literbike would be much better for wheelies IMO.

Sounds like you need t o ride the bike and get use to it. You may be use to the way it was with the flies in and ripping the throttle a little to careless. Just give it some time and you will see that you will enjoy it. Or then again maybe not!

Yeah, put 'em back in. It's your bike, and you gotta ride it. Set it up for YOU

Did you put 'em back in yet?
I never took mine out. I wasn't expecting to keep the 14 near this long, but I can't seem to find anything I've wanted to trade-in for
