Spring Preload Adj Rear Shock

Anyone have knowledge on how to adj. the spring preload on the rear shock?

When I had a 954RR Honda provided me with a tool and instructions, but my Kawi manual tells me I need to have a dealer do it. The shock has completely different type of adj than the 954 several years ago.

I've tightened every other suspension component but the rear. I'm 6'6", 220lbs.

I need to know how to tighten, I'm assuming the shock is set for a 150lb. rider.

Do I need a tool? If not suggestions and/or pictures would be great.

to set the shock for 220 lbs, you need a new one.
In any event you will need to purchase a spanner wrench, or you can beat it until its ugly with a drift... a chisel or punch with a dull end.
I weigh 200 and had to crank mine down about 10 turns to get it as close as I could with the stock spring.
I would think the same spanner u used on the cbr will work, once you remove the right side foot peg bracket and rear brake master cylinder and tye it back out of the way.
I just used one left over from my motocross days.
Schnitz racing and race tech sell rear shock and fork springs much better suited to our weight.
The stock springs are good for 140-160 lb rider.
