zx10 front fender
Well i done did it!
it looks way better than the boat anchor the 14 comes with,
weighs half as much
and the bike seems to run alot cooler.
You can actually see the rad now....
i probably lost .5 mph on top end.... :P
Had to make my own brackets out of 1/4" plate aluminum, about 45 min grinding cutting drilling and tapping.

stock fender..

ZX10 fender.

I taped 5/8 fuel hose to the center perimiter of the tire aka OCC, I actually did learn one thing from that show... LOL.
Then proceeded to fab brackets.
The bike runs noticably cooler! Easier to clean the wheels, and looks lighter too.
I think a pit bull headset front stand might fit in there now !
If there is interest I could fab and sell the brackets.
If you build your own make sure you have clearance, and no bind on the fender.
If the fender wer ever to jam in the tire and lock it up, it would be an ugly moment for sure!

Thanks, my cox rad screen should be here any day...
I think the rad catches twice as many bugs now!
The stock fender directs alot of air out beyond the fairing, and it misses the rad entirely at high speeds I think. It really flared wider, and also physically had about 40% more frontal surface area.
The stock fender was made for aerodynamics for sure.
the smeg has made up for any shortcomings do to aero losses!

The ZX-10 gets better aeros due to it's thinner head faring and mirrors, ours is wide to divert more air from the pilot, and for better view around the bike. We also have 2 big pipes in the rear air stream, typically this will cost you net 10HP. With the SMEG tucked in tight and mirror removal, the net effect at high speeds is noticeable.
The front fender is worth a lot more than .5 MPH at top end. It kees a lot of air out of the center of the bike, and breaks up the parachuting effect in the radiator cavity. Matter of fact, with aftermarket coated pipes, you should be able to put a block-off piece in the lower fairing lip due to the reduced temps and gain some more aero back. We didn't get one and have open lowers due to the massive heat of the stock exhaust system.
The ZX-10 fender is good for track days or city riding, but if you want to do a lot of high end, retain your stock fender and don't sell it.

It pulled 196 4 days ago, and 194 yesterday.
Different fenders, different days, different locations, different wind conditions, different barometric pressures!
ok I lost 2 mph... maybe!
I still blast past my friends stock 14.

Sorry.
The fender is ebony black 06 zx10r.
color matches the ebony 06 zx14!
The fender was about $165 Canadian.
Not sure how much in the us of a.
Not sure if earlier models fit.
Do know one thing though, the notched sides of the 10r fender fit perfect and clear the rotors.
Look at the close up and check the clearance between the rotors and fender!

the 10 fender is a good mod - im glad to see you were able to do it with the
stock forks. I think it looks way better than the stock fender.

It still gets warm idling in traffic, but cools much quicker, and runs at only 1-2 bars at highway speeds, even in 100f weather.
2 fans will really help for idling with the 10r fender I think...
