is there a hp gain posible over the whole rpm range by upgrading the ignition??
still waiting for the ignition module to come out from dynojet but my kawa dealer told me that there is almost no power gain with this module... hard to believe for me... anyone have some experience with those moduls???????

All late model sportbikes have very good stock ignitions. Any power gain would come from mapping with a powercommander and timing changes with the ignition module. For instance the drags with a pipe would require a richer mixture for launch and more timing. Top speed would require less timing in top gear and the mixture should be measured with an onboard A/F gauge. Current bikes are so good it takes alot of little things to add up or major internal changes like more displacement and compression. Have fun.

biggest gain would be from some race gas and timing adjustment to complement the setup

Also the advatange, even if not outright HP gain would be to back off the timing for nitrous, which of course gives a HP gain..

The dj module says +/- 10, but I guess it's really only about +/-2 degrees change on the couple that I've used and tuned.
I'm not exactly sure about the actual "2" degrees, but the hp spread was only about 2% hp change from +10 to -10.
If it was -10 DEGREES to +10 DEGREES, you should have seen bogging to pinging....... and not just a teen hp change.
The only use for the dj ignition module is if you need one to run the Quickshifter.

The ignition module isn't required to run the quickshifter. The quickshifter will plug directly into the expansion port on the power commander.

A few degrees of timing and 93 octane pump gas should be an easy gain of 5 hp in the bottom and midrange. I don't think it's worth the price of admission, considering how much the jerkoffs at Dynojet want for a box that should have been built into the standard ECU tuner, IMO.

I agree it should have been built into the Powe Commander itself.. Perhaps a modest fee for upgrade, but yea I agree with ya..

I agee with the fact that it would gain in lower and mid range, with the pomp gas here at octane 98, I could use the advancer I guess..
