I did a search for high temps and missed the posting (idf there was 1.)
Anyways what have you guy's been doing to combat the engine temps?
Suggestions please.
Currently 20-40 degrees F.

Hi, this is just a suggestion - search under keywords "engine ice" in ZX14. There was a lot of overheating posts with that and other products mentioned within the thread. Good luck.
No need for reposts, there's a plethora of info.

1. Ride fast!
2. Ride on a cold day!
3. Get rid of the stock exhaust with the catalytic converters (which hold heat in) and get a PC which eliminates the lean running condition.
4. I've been running Engine Ice this summer and honestly, I can't tell any difference between it and regular 50/50 Ethylene Glycol and water, other than price. Some swear by it but back-to-back experience on my 14 says it isn't worth the price.
5. Add about 1/2 bottle of Water Wetter to either the regular antifreeze mix or to the Engine Ice. It won't make any difference for steady state operation at slow speed but it will allow the engine to heat up slower at stop lights and cool down quicker when you get going.
6. What seems to be the best solution is to ceramic coat the headers, inside and outside. Refer to http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=27&TID=31248&set_time= for further discussion. Brock says it works and that's good enough for me.

The less ethylene glycol you can run the better. For every 1% ethylene glycol, you raise cylinder head temperature approximately 1 degree. You also need to be aware that the display is an indicator and not an actual gauge. Just because you have several bars showing doesn't mean the engine is too hot. These beasts make a ton of power, and heat is a natural byproduct.
