front sprocket washer
im this topic is in here some where but im having trouble finding it.new to this.how do you go about flattening out the washer?thanks for any help.

I use a hard rubber mallet and a big flat tip screwdriver to flatten it out. I also have a 1/4" round punch that I use. I've even used the head of a 1/2" bolt. You just have to flatten the lip of the washer to remove the sprocket nut.

Gently: with a very small drift or cold chisel and a "not too big" hammer. Remember it's the gearbox output shaft with oil seals and associated bearings on it.

I flattened the used one with a wooden mallet and traced around the shape of it onto a sheet of thin stainless plate. Cut out the shape and filed it and filed it and hey presto, new washer....
