188 mile per hour

Well, that was pretty fast... had my speedohealer on my bike for the first time, did also had my gps mounted of course, when the gps was standing on 100 miles a hour, the speedo was stuk 90... so no chance the speed limiter was kicking in. the motor had made 3300 miles so far, and the second rear tire was allmost gone. I think that the tire and 17/41 sprockeds made the 188 a barrier....

bna race air filter
pc3 usb remaped with tanks to BLACKBULLET 76 (who did send me the maps)
speedohealer
akrapovic slip on
flies removed
pomp fuel octane 98

(still waiting for the 39 and 40 sprocked to arive......)

My bike turned 10,700 rpm indicated on the tach at 300 km/ 186 mph,
Doing the math it should spin 200 mph at 11,500 then....

Brock needed to run 17/40 to hit 198 at maxton...

Don't know for sure as I have since lowered the gearing
185 is fast enough, I just want to get there faster!

Running 16/43's I can't get past 167 -- GPS indicated, but the speedo is buried way down there, obviously...not that I give a shit because that's fast enough for me and I'm not into top speed -- just about getting there faster is all...only problem with that setup is keeping it on the ground. No way to pin it in1st or 2nd without popping up. Damn thing comes up faster than my 10R, in any gear.

Lyle, your speedo reads 185, but in reality, if you're running like me, you're at 167-168 (real)...you run 16/43's or higher?

FBA do you have the Speedo tricked, speedo-healer or other?

Reason I ask is that I went 176 @ Tx mile with that gearing, speedo reduced 25%.
Maybe the limiter is holding you back to 167?

Just a thought.

Hi Steve!
No I'm running stock gearing again right now.
Gonna order new chain and sprokets , tires and other goodies likely next week.
I don't think i will be running any lower than 16/41 as I see a little blue bottle in my future!
Maybe a hair dryer too mid summer!

I will be doing alot of street event drags this summer, i can race every other weekend in Edmonton, as long as i don't break 9.99, so, I will be running the 1/8 hard and walking the back half, practicing for CMDRA !!

I think i will be able to make 5 of the 6 western CMDRA races this summer!!

I used 18/41 for 205.4mph at Woodbridge last year but I've just dropped it back to 17/40 as it was a bit over-geared.

A standard 1400 made 198.7mph at the same meeting, That's stock exhaust, 17/41 gearing, mirrors left on etc. Just a Speedo Healer added and set to "convert kph to mph" mode. In the right conditions a standard 1400 is fast.

2012 ZZR1400 in Golden Blazed Green
Brock CT Full System. etc
Max: 203.1 in 1 mile (so far)

Bobc- How much room do you have to run @ Woodbridge, is it a timed mile or longer?
Curious because I attempted the mile with 18-41 first and could only pull 10K in fith gear.
However we were running into a 10-15mph headwind

Woodbridge is barely 2 miles long, that includes braking too. It's around 1.25 miles for acceleration, then the speed trap which is thirty or forty feet, the rest for braking. You could say we keep the throttle open for about another 4 seconds compared to a 1 mile run.

My 18/41 205mph was with a tail wind. I don't know if I'll be that lucky again and that's why I changed back to the original 17 tooth gearbox sprocket. Renthal have made me a 40 tooth chainwheel for around £40. It's around a half inch more wheelbase too now which is good.

The bike feels really "explosive" even geared up a tooth at the back. I'll let you know how I do.
