Faster sounds like top speed to me. Quicker think that would mean off the line. 1/8 1/4 time & track lap time. stock , pro stock ,super what class .Or should I say no class

stock fer stock , ar u sure?
friend owns an R1, he weighs 60 lbs less than me, R1 is geared -1 front +2 REAR, and he was only 2 bike lengths behind me when the 14 was COMPLETELY stock...

So how stock is stock?
see what i mean?

Mine 14 is stock now too except, i have a pipe, -1, +2 rear, pc3 mapped, and flies out....
Now he's like 12 bikes behind....

so how stock is stock.....

liter bikes don't have a wide ratio gear box, have high CG, hard to launch compared to the 14's low 1st gear, and foward biased low CG...

Did the 14 owner know how to ride..... I doubt it , or something was desperately wrong!

They are so close that 1 bad shift, or poor shift points will mean the diff between win or lose!

I'm curious why it matters? lol Hey! I got one. If a tree falls in a forest and nobody is around to hear it...does it make a noise? Ok...what if it fell on a FAT guy, does it make a noise? How about if the fat guy was on a ZX10, will he get away in time?

There are too many factors for the average joe to figure out which is faster or quicker. In the right conditions both will probably go well beyond the governed speed of 186mph and both will probably run in the 9.7 range corrected on the track. But even if you had both bikes with the same rider and ran them back to back in the 1/4 mile you wouldn't have good numbers because of all the variables. Track temps, track conditions, tire pressures, rider skill, amount of gas in the tank, wind conditions, the list could go on and on.

So to answer the original question. Both bikes are fast as hell, with the only difference being the 14 probably being easier to go faster and quicker on

I've ridden both and can say with some confidence (and based on my OWN experience) ...that the 12 is quicker.

Is there really any question that the ZX-14 is faster with the same setup and rider? I thought that was obvious. Like dubious said, the 14 is made for the drag strip so it's going rule the ZX-10 there if everything else is equal. Rider skill is a HUGE factor however. A novice rider compared to a expert rider on the same bike can easily be over 2 sec difference. Even though the 14 is geared for the track it's still a little tricky to launch hard without lowering the gears, and even then you need the skill to quickly find the sweet spot on the clutch when the light turns green, and oh ya, make sure you don't miss gears.

these bikes are so close (liters, busa, zx14) that one little error from riders part can make one faster than the other. another factor is the weight of rider.
my opinion u can never be 100% accurate.
by the way who cares.

We're getting to politically correct. The ZX-14 is faster. Notice the period at the end of the last sentence. Lol!

Have not had a zx10 take me out yet ....But the two zx10s i race with can and do run 8.90s to 9.0s ( mostly 9.0s ) with the same mods as me .... Both are stock motored like mine ... Quick bikes for sure but i'm not sure they will run 8.70s like the zx14 ... One thing i do see is they seem to be faster than the Gixxer and Busa with the same mods... Smokin...

Must have been one dead, fucked Busa or a 325 lb rider against a 130 pounder (Smokin') on the 10R. I had 2 of them and currently have in my stable, an exceptionally fast/quick perfect running 05 10R with 162 RWHP...no fucking way the 10R is faster or quicker.

Ive ridden both against good riders many times and the 10R isn't quite as quick and no fucking way will it stay at 186 with a Busa either...not in FACTORY STOCK form. At 150, the Busa starts pulling away quickly against a 10R...every time.

10R against the 14 -- 14 will walk the 10R...

I watched a gixxer 1000 rape a busa over and over...I think smokin and tony were there that night too.....

I was like "what is wrong with that guy's bike?" and everyone looked at me funny and said "nothing".

fack I was amazed
