They are very simple to install. Probably the best hookup on the 14 is to find the Tach wire and hook to that. I have one on my ZRX and love it.

i also have the muzzy air shifter and would like to hook it up direct if it is pretty simple, but i have to quick shift to keep the bike down sometimes, most of the time. it would be great as long as i can still beable to shift with the button when i need to.

Seems to work great , i will be testing it weds night ... RED wire to switched power ... BLACK to ground ... the other two wires pulg into the shift light pig tale... GREEN wire of the shift minder to the white wire with red tracer on the first coil in the left side of the bike ... I used this to hook to the coil wire >>http://secure.mycart.net/catalogs/catalog.asp?prodid=4930249&showprevnext=1 ..It's like 15 bucks but you don't have to cut into your factory coil wires...Smokin...

I didn't hook it up as an auto shift ( yet ) someone told me on another board that if you spin it will keeps shifting and could mess up your trans ...I think i will just keep mine as a shift light for now .... Smokin...

Never thought of that with hooking up as an autoshift. Point that thing so it points right at you face. I get so focussed on riding that if it wasn't pointed at me I think I would miss it.

i am tyring to hook it up to the tach , but i seen on one thread were they said if you splice into the tach signal wire you will mess it up. because the 14 runs on a can system. is this true. if not i need to know witch wire is signal wire from tach witch one is power wire.

You can't get a tach signal from the Instrument Cluster. You have to either tap into a coil ground wire, or use the tach adapter found at the above link.

Bullshit.....I had an autometer pro-shift on my old GSXR for years. Yea, it would spin, and yea, it would shift if it went past the shift point, but at that point the run is toast anyways, so I would just shut off. I rebuilt the motor twice, and the tranny was always fine.
I would prefer to have an autoshift on the turbo, too many things to watch. It might happen. But you know, according to the NHRA and prostar rules, autoshifters on bikes are illegal. Guess I'll have to have an rpm activated "boost controller"
