new camera mount

I made a new camera mount. It's mounted to where the grab handles are located on the european models. I've got a problem though. Under hard accelleration, my digital camera cuts off. It was cutting off from just reving the engine, but I put some rubber mounts on it and that helped some. The vibrations are cutting it off I guess. I hope to perfect it some more so I can get some better videos. Anyways, here's a still shot from the video I did today.

Well, I'm just about fed up with trying to make this mount work without cutting my camera off. Does anyone know of a mount I can get that bolts up like this? If not, then maybe some material that will kill the vibration? If I can't find one, I guess I'll have to fab up something different, but I really like this view. Will be cool to make a video at full throttle.

You may find the solution in a camera less sensitive to vibration.

i've not shopped for cameras but surely you should be able to get some vibration specs on each model

Look at the GPS mounts from Ram-mount ...

I have several standard things I can mount to my upper area .. remove a bolt for the clip-ons .. replace with a few mm longer .. and with a small ball mounted there .. you have the entire line to choose from and many lengths of conections ..
I can place my digital camera, both still and movie, above, below, to the side of the screen.
Also I use this for my GPS when just roaming around ..

as for vibration .. my camera had to be using memory rather than the DVD recording .. nothing I could do there ..

the 33x zoom and 16x9 DVD Samsung I got is cheap .. cheap in reviews too .. but cheap .. small .. and a totally kick arse zoom .. seems ok for just going on the bars ..

My camera is old. It's a Sony Cybershot DSC P-52. I've got a 1gb memory stick in it that will do 45 minutes of video. I've had it a long time. I messed with the mount some more, but with no luck. I figured I'd upgrade, so I ordered a nice camcorder yesterday. It's a Sony Handycam DCR-SR80. I think it will do the trick. Plus the quality will be a whole lot better.

Well, I got the new camcorder in yesterday. I tried it out wallago and hell, it's more sensative than my old camera! I think if I had a full exhaust with just the one pipe, it wouldn't cause problems. Oh well
