thanks smokin, I thought maybe I made a mistake or something, so it will run that way down low until I get into the numbers.... it will have enough fuel to handle the ram air... will keep the trottle pinned open then......

Mine has always seemed rich, but I doubt I could tune it better than Brock so its all good.

Do ya'll find it common that the zx pops on decel? I just installed a yosh full system, pcIII, high flow filter, and when coming down off of high rpm's it will hit a deep pop. Was told this was common on zx's. One thing i did notice...the stock headers have a pass through pipe from hdr one to hdr four, which I would think would act as an "X" pipe or an "h" pipe, reducing back pressure on the exhaust. Any idea as to why manufacturers would not include this? Seems to me it would help eliminate the pop on decel.

1. Every bike I've owned develops black soot around the end of the tailpipe after I put a new exhaust on and either rejetting (back in the old days) or installed a Power Commander and the recommended map. The bike will run cooler running rich than lean so that's an advantage. I never noticed a change in my mpg between stock and after installing Brock's Gen 3 StreetSmart, pulling the flies, and installing his map. I just wipe the bake of the pipe off after a ride.

2. Yep, they all pop after you put on a pipe. It has something to do with the decel fuel schedule during a full throttle chop. I won't claim this as absolute truth, just what I've read and been told. The fuel is cut completely off when you close the throttle above 3500 rpm and then cuts back on when you get to 3500. That's where you should be getting the pop. It's where I do. This part of the fuel scheduling is outside control of the PC, so you can't affect it. I heard it was an emissions thing but again, I'm not an expert on this. I just let it pop. Actually, they pop with the stock pipe too. But the popping is highly muffled so you just don't hear it unless you are paying very close attention.
