bad decel pop!!! Hey, Just installed the brock sidewinder and power commander. Removed the secondaries and now the bike seems to back fire on decel. Also the bike seems to be sluggish up to 2500rpms.I installed the cap into the bottom of air box and everything..except for this minor dilema the bike is wicked. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

They all do it and as of now nobody has a fix ..... They pop on decell is right at 3500 RPMs because that is when the fuel turns back on ... If yours is popping more than that you have exhaust leak at the head pipes... Just injoy that 3500 pop like i do ....After i beat or kill a Busa i let off and shoot a flame at them... That way they will never forget who kicked that a$$ ....lol...

Here's what Brock says:
On multiple occasions lately I have been approached by customers who have complained about deceleration pop from a ZX-14 in STOCK form after installing our exhaust system.
Example: Pops with NO TRE installed and/or pops with the secondary throttle plates IN PLACE?
After speaking to one of Kawasaki's technical representatives about the whole "decel pop" issue at length last month. We concluded that most deceleration pop is usually caused from a lean condition from the emissions system injecting fresh air into the exhaust ports. Of course, Brock's Performance has known about this for years and we have cured bikes accordingly. Our ZX-14 systems come with a block off plug to remedy this situation.
BUT, we also concluded that any type of INTAKE LEAK can also have the same affect by allowing air to enter the intake tract. An improperly or disconnected vacuum hose or loose throttle body to inlet clamp allow unwanted air to enter the engine.
I began forwarding this information to the troubled stock configuration owners.
NEARLY ALL reported that the hose clamps attaching the throttle bodies to the engine inlets NEEDED to be TIGHTENED! Every one responded that after tightening the clamps- the pop went totally away or became nearly un-noticeable.
I believe the loose clamp situation may also be plaguing the TRE and/or Secondary plates removed riders while the situation is being masked as a result of these modifications.
I strongly suggest that ANY ZX-14 owner who is experiencing decal pop should remove the "Ferrari" body panels and tighten the clamps which attach the throttle bodies to the engine inlets.

Pops are cool. The more the better, as long as you're not hurting anything.

I like it, but if you take fuel out of the map at the lowest throttle setting it will help........since a lot of the pops come from twisting the throttle lightly on decel and letting fuel in.....

I love my pops too. They grow on you and then you eventually love them. I wouldn't get rid of them now if I could.

Mine pops from time to time, but my favorite is the crackling sounds I get when I let off the throttle. I hear this a little before the pop sound. I don't mind the pop though.

The Lt. green in the GPS sensor harness -- ground her out and the popping should go away completely, but you'll lose your gear position indicator (STAYS IN NEUTRAL). This is the same thing as the TRE 6a, but at no cost. I haven't yet done it, but will very soon, as soon as I put the S/H in.

Love the pops - can almost predict their exact moment now.
Crackles are brilliant also - the right speed/revs/gear/throttle and they just keep going
