sounds right 35% depreciation first year on almost ALL vehicles! You could expect considerably more for that from an individual I see them see all the time for 9000

That price ($6510) is bullshit! I would never sell my 14 for that.

I can believe it, thats why I have a problem with buying vehicles brand new.
Whats one year averae mileage for a bike? I mainly race mine. It'll get 2-3 thousand miles a year tops.
I bought my 2006 used for $8500 from a dealer in Oct. - Its in good condition, great shape and in even better hands now.

Heck, I almost never sell my bikes, I keep them forever. So it really doesn't matter to me blue book value - but it does mean I can get a fairly new bike on the cheap. Don't know what I want - ....????

There are so many reasons for this number, but it sounds fair to me.
When I heard that people were getting their bikes in the low 9000 range Last March , well that's where value starts.
Now keep in mind this is a Trade In Report, so chances are whatever your buying should (hopefully) be discounted. If it is not I would expect the 6510 to go higher, but with a good new bike discount that's a fair price for the ZX-14.
The way it works in most cases retail to retail or Wholesale to wholesale. Very rear to get a Wholesale (new) to retail (used) although a person who is a REAL good dealer might be able to do this. Yep I've seen some of the best.
Robert
Oh yea I would not sell my bike for less than 8000. If I were to guess the real value of our bike is about 8500.

I used Kelly Blue Book, and I used trade-in value rather than any of the fair-market values, because I really wanted to know what the dealer is seeing.
Thanks for posting, I'll be less careful and leave it outside and maybe it'll be stolen

I listed mine for sale here a few days ago for 9800 with all the extras and not one person is interested yet, now don't hate me, but if it was a busa I would have had some interest by now. Both of my busa's sold in less then a week when i listed them. may keep it is no interest and convert to more of a long distance machine, still love it.

A fool, and thier money, are easily parted. How many of those Boosa buyers ever see 75% of that bikes performance? They bought the infamous name is all. Means nothin' at all.
Don't get me wrong, I'd buy a Bus in a heartbeat. But, I'd ride that sumbitch also.I'd be a damn fool to put it down. Especially after riding one a few times.
You have to buy bikes, and any vehicle really, 'cause you like it and want to enjoy it for awhile. Not because of what it will be worth down the road.

I added gear, flight, mods, everything that it took to purchase ,not counting the interest paid between july and december to pay it off and it all added up to 16122. I gotta say I'd be insulted by dealer offering that amount for my bike.
