Thoughts on getting the extended warranty, good idea or no?

Any of you guys that expect to hold your bike for 3-years or longer get the "good times protection plan" warranty? Do any of you have longterm experience with a bike like this (zx-12 and the like) and have an opinion as to whether footing up the extra cost for the warranty is a sensible route to go?

Feedback or opinions appreciated..

I would purchase it. Kawasaki gave me a extra 6 months warranty for free on my 14 because I had engine problems. And if I had to pay for the repairs it would have cost me close to 3k. Make sure you have a good repor with the service department in which your extended warranty is threw and make sure they will honor the warranty with the mods you have on your bike.. My bike which has flies removed and full brocks system and mapped and has still a full warranty because of my dealers backing. Some may not honor the warranty with these slight modifications.

I got the extra 4 year warranty (total of 5 years). My mods worry me too. I guess if something goes wrong, I can always put it back stock. I think as long as you don't try to alter the bike dramatically, it should be ok to do little things to it. All I have done is the flys out, dual slip-ons, pcIII and screen removed from ait filter. But I guess kawasaki would look towards anything to get out of having to pay for repairs. It's all about making money I guess.

thanks for the feedback guys, looks to me like it's a sensible way to go. I'm on the edge of a purchase and am trying to gather as much info as possible to make sensible and cost effective choices.

Yeah, that's a good idea. But I'll tell ya, once you ride it you'll be like, "Gas that bitch up, I'll take it!!!" and price probably won't matter as much as before
