Post up your service/maintenance prices paid for community comparison
I thought it would be a good idea for all of those that have gone through taking your bikes in for scheduled maintenance to post up the general work done, the $tealer that did the work, the number of labor hours involved and how much charged. I thought this will be a good comprehensive way of sharing amongst owners and prospective buyers what to expect with regards cost of ownership over the year(s). I've read a few threads already with people getting rightfully shocked when they see their service bills, this could be handy for all..Post 'em up if you got 'em.

I've only had the 15K valve adjustment and that cost me 512 dollars.
It included
Valve check and Adjustment.
4 Spark Plugs (Note the R1 Plugs are the same and cost 1/2 as much as Kawasaki???)
Air Filter
Oil (Amsoil 10W-40)
Oil filter
2 Shims (2 were a bit out of wack) I wanted the old ones.
And the Typical safety check.

600 mile Service $236.43 Well thats what the invoice said. I bought a Service Plan it cost me 1799.00. I did the math and it should save me a bunch of money. I tend to ride 12,000 plus miles a year.

Just noticed the local Suzuki dealer posted on front door increase to $65.00 per hour service fee. They work on all brands. This is in Podunk, so think its probably pretty cheap. I do all my own maintenance and services, so doesnt affect me.....TB

If I can't do the work then I take it to a trusted mechanic. I never use the dealer mechs anymore. I have had too many experiences with incompetent mechanics, not to mention excessively higher prices. This even goes for warranty work for me. Usually I can get the dealer to give me the parts then I return the old parts to them if under warranty.
