Ford GT

Anyone had any experience witha 750rwhp Ford GT do from a 100mph roll? Weighs 3700# w/driver.
My 14 has flys out, Hindle Gen3, Brock map, runs good. I weigh 200# in leathers.
I didn't ride in the car much past 120, but it starts pulling hard in 3rd, traction is a problem till the mid/top of 2nd gear.

I've got the GT's block and ported/polished heads with stage 2.5 cams in my truck. My truck can put a hurt on 600's, and if I catch 1000's on a kickdown at around 60-70 it's hard for them to pull out. With a much lighter car at the same HP level... hmm. I think the 14's torque allow you to pull out fairly easy.

You running dry sump too....

That car either has had some work to get 750 at the wheels or it's BS - stock is 550 at the crank so that's a 60% increase. It takes 883HP to get 750 to the tire w/ a 15% loss.

Anyway......it's the rider. Any 14 that can't leave a full sized vehicle w/ less than 1000HP is broken or undermanned.

Of course air pressure is the real problem. I'll race any car with 1000HP on my 14 from 2nd gear to 150 and they will never get close......above that the air is a real problem. So a roll-on from 100 is a really bad idea if you have to be on a bike where the air is already starting to be a real factor against you.

Some fool in a brand new BMW M5 tried to roll with me today on HWY101 and I simply went down from 6th to 3rd and even giving him the jump went around another car to cut back in front and leave - I didn't even check the mirror to change lanes in front of the car b/c 500HP is a joke compared to a bike.

We have one locally that makes ~1400hp.

Doubt you'll run away from him at a 100mph roll....lol

And that same GT made 700ish hp on the stock blower/spray and it went 9.70s @ 144 or so.

be on your game and you should take him.

Like the other guy said it's all rider. Seen a stock piped busa running rich run alongside a 870rwhp supercharged viper up 160mph from a 70mph roll. Car later ran a piped busa which put one length on him and stayed there up to 180 when they shut down (car wasn't making up ground anyway). This car has eaten similar bikes but Both guys it ran that time knew damn well how to ride.

Good luck crushin the GT.

9.70 .........not enough :-)

Stock motored 14's in the 8's now......just pipes and PC

With a really good launch even a bone stock 14 should be able to lead almost a stock anything up to the bikes speed limiter.

It takes balls to be fast on a bike and only money in a car. I drove my Cobra 170+ on the I-15 from Vegas and it was like nothin' - same roads and speed on a bike is an event :-)

Good point Ninja.
I know the builder. He had a fast 10 and 12. The hp is prob real.
GT spent 30k, but I forgot to look for dry sump last nite. I assume stock sump.
Diff cooler, larger than Ford racing add on
Diff resevoir
Methanol/water injection
Larger Supercharger @19psi, plus dyno time.
3700# w/driver is heavy. If it was 2500-3000 pounds, mite be a bigger prob.

Ever since I started riding bikes, I can't see why somone would want to put that much money in a car when they can get a bike for FAR LESS and accomplish the same thing. Plus it's more fun to ride than drive

The aluminum GT 5.4 block is dry sump from the factory - ergo, the Ford GT has a dry sump motor all stock. In order for the block to fit in the Lightning's chassis, the engine has to have a custom oil pan/windage screen/trap/high volume pump made for it, the net result is you have a dry/wet sump combo. With the traps and windage screen I have no oil on the crank in almost every situation. Pure oil pressure through the journals and piston squirters, baby!

As far as the HP rating goes, without major engine work and with a Whipple 2.6L supercharger replacement I speculate that his HP numbers should be around 650-680 at the tire - max, with all the other support bolt ons like full exhaust and intake with about 16 PSI peak boost. To run 750 you need far more fuel flow - injectors, lines and pumps. The problem is, the stock rods are usualy broken by now :

I have an '03 Cobra and those motors are tough. I've seen one that was running twin turbos on a totally stock long-block.....never opened ......880 at the wheels. The stock rods are forged H-beams... plus spinning to about 8000 is doable :-)

After melting a head, breaking the rear end and breaking the tranny case.......I got tired of breaking stuff so I gave it to my wife detuned to about 500......she says it's fun......

3.3 liter supercharger, w/methanol @19psi
Black,
I think I finally figured out why they put that much money in cars.....maybe because 99% can't ride bikes. Why else?
Blow away anything on the road for $10,000, or = spend a million to get beaten by nearly every[5000 ?] 14 on the road?
