grab handle

with the rear seat cowl on it is dificult to get the bike up on the stands, at the bike show here in DC I saw a 14 with a handle up under the sub-frame is this for the passenger to hold on to or to help steady the bike when it is being put to the stands?

It is to absolutely remove the bike from being "sporty" IMO. May as well add a backrest, ABS, and suitcases on each side to haul retirement paperwork.

I use a Vortex rear stand, and its really not that hard?

The grab handle is part of the center stand package from Kawasaki.

It is difficult without the grab-handle.
I bought a paddock-stand at a show which has spring loaded cups that fit over the bobbins and stay located. That allows me to steady the bike with one hand and push down on the stand with the other making it a safe one man operation.

This is it on my Suzuki.

I suppose you could do what some Hayabusa owners do, cut a slot in the edge of the cowl and fit it with the handle in place but it wouldn't look good.
