I'm a fan of paint from a hobby store for painting the screws.
Personally,I like the black wheels better. The chrome would look good only if he was to have more of.Say the swingarm and front sproket cover, switch housings on the handlebars.

I like the chrome. Breaks it up nicely. If he did away with the green louvers and kept it all black then black wheels would be okay. Fact that he has chosen to veer off black makes the contrast of the chrome wheels look better.

Typical woman...I can't decide! ;-)!! I don't think you can go wrong either way! I think the chrome is a nicer/cleaner/sweeter look than the black! However, an all black bike with some Kawa Green Accents...NICE!! I think the chrome stands out a little more and has more personality during the day light hours...so I would go with the chrome! But seriously, it is going to look good either way!

When you come to your senses and powder coat the wheels, have the pegs, heel guards/shifter and rear brake lever powder coated also. That will be HAWT.

Yeah, that green don't look so good on my bike. LOL.

On the second bike, are those real block-offs on the frame to cover the holes or photo chopped as well?

stan,
first of all, learn how to spell, d00d. what the fuck is "crome"? and who the hell would pay for black screws? i am not going to waste my own time being a grammar nazi, but holy shit - learn how to spell and punctuate! judging from your piss-poor cosmetic taste and atrocious grammatical representation, id say that you are a total noob of the worst degree.
anyway... who cares what we all think? my zx12 turned out the way it did because i did not ask anyone their opinion when building it - i went my own way, learning on my own the whole while. to date, i have yet to meet anyone with a 12 quite like mine. maybe your friend should be like everyone else here and get a brocks exhaust, or maybe roaringtoyz arm extensions. it seems like a lot of members here have duplicated each others bikes, probably due to a lack of ingenuity and creativity. my zx14 is bone stock except for gearing, power commander and a custom map for removed flies, and i am satisfied.
tell your friend to be his own man. get him to create his own account instead of asking you to ask us what he should do. that way, he can research everything appropriately and be able to answer his own questions. personally, i think he ought to sell his zx14 to someone who KNOWS what to do with it. better yet, donate it to me - i am a starving college student with fast aspirations. you wont be disappointed.

by the way, CHROME WONT GET YA HOME

Wow Countersteer! I won't hold your taste or lack of judgment against you but perhaps you should have posted your ideas on your 12 before you did it! I will say that your comments show your immaturity and your unwillingness to help your fellow riders. (You do know that is the reason that forums where created right?) It was very tacky for you to write such a nasty response to Stan for attempting to help me. But like I said I wouldn't hold it against you. Lucky for you I'm from LI ..so you can have the honors of speaking with me face to face if you like and if it is not to cold I will trail my bike! Anybody can be nasty over email...I'd like you to look me in my face and tell me to be my own man! (I'll be sure to bring my camera and post the picture after you do it!) Any further response please feel free to contact me directly at ohbadge85@aol.com To everyone else I sure appreciate your comments! They have help me in my decision.

apparently my reply was thought provoking enough for you to create your own account instead of asking a friend to ask us...
furthermore, everything i say online i have the balls to say in person.
im from riverhead... so what exactly are you trying to say?

edit:
by the way, to answer your question, the "best combo" would be a #2 @ mcdonalds

What I'm trying to say is that I am 6'4 285 from Roosevelt and I don't like smart mouth kids! Have the balls to tell me how to get in touch with you..and we will see about all this mouth! Talk is for kids, this is a motorcycle forum not a chat room where little girls hide behind there screenames. So, unless you are providing a way for me to reach out a touch you lets not clog the forum with this nonsense.

PS.
For the record...your 12 is ugly and you won't see another like it for good reason!

countersteer, or Should I say Miss countersteer:

U got no taste at all! Look it that zx-12r you have... It's tells it all.... You must have a drag queen side to yourself with that ugly ass purple and pink color what were you thinking?????? Don't even think about doing your piss-poor cosmetic job on the Black zx-14. You have no taste, and no class. You should ask all of the motorcycle forums before you even try anything on your black ZX-14.

By the way, this is what a real ZX-12r should look like.

Brent,

Sorry for making your bike look bad! (smile) I chopped up the picture and didn't do it justice! I wanted to see what it would look like with the chrome rims! The funny part is it seems like I never saw the rims until I saw yours chromed! The stock color does it no justice! I'll post a pic of my bike with the green this evening

dola, youve got 1" on me, and thats about it. since youre comparing size : 20" neck, 20" biceps, 56" shoulders. feel free to "reach out and touch me", i am easily found. i realize talk is cheap but i also get down. i dont hide behind screen names either - i am a very outgoing person, and am not shaken easily.
as far as my 12 goes, i am most proud of what is on the inside, underneath the plastics. you asked for opinions so i gave mine. if you dont like what you may hear then dont bother asking. the direction i am taking with my 14 is kawi green and black. i am not really into chrome anymore.
however, it is nice that you decided to get a screen name and participate, perhaps when it is a bit warmer we can catch up.
