How well can you maintain a none O-ringed chain for the street? Is it just a normal oil the chain before riding and that's it or is it just too much on the chain overall?

I thought the only reason they came out with the o-ring chain was for the ease of maintenance. For those who didn't want to clean all the time. To me it seems a lil more of a pain as you have use o-ring safe cleaners, o-ring safe lubes, not recommended to clean with brushes,..... With a non o-ring you can use damn near anything to clean, whatever you want to lube, less resistance, and costs less.
