I've had a Busa, a 12, and I am happy with my 14 w/gen3, noflys map, damper.
Power, comfort, gas mileage, and handling are important to me. All great on the 14.
Lighter is always better for me.
So if the Duc V4 raises the bar and Kawi comes out with a 200np 400 pounder, then for sure.

LMFAO! You hit the head on the nail, dood.

I picked it up for $10,945 OTD. I'm cool with that. I rode my 12R over to one of my buddy's house down here who's on LABusas (LotaFun). Another guy from that board was there, PV Duke, and he drove me to the dealership in his truck. Basically went in, signed my name and drove away. Went back to Mitch's house. Me on the 14, Mitch on my 12R and BiggerDanno on his Busa went riding up Azusa and the back of Glendora Mountain Road. It was an awesome frikkin' ride. Hadn't enjoyed a ride like that in a long frikkin' time. The 14 is a great bike. Comfortable, freakishly smooth, confidence insipiring in the curves...the whole shit and shebang. I'm thoroughly pleased. And the brakes! They kick major ass!

My only gripe...it's slow. LOL No guts under 5k. Not much more guts above it. Granted it's got to be broken in and everything, but I'm coming off a 175 rwhp 12R that flat out got on its horse and moved. I'm not worried about it at all. I'll get some miles under it, throw on Brock's pipe, PC and map and definitely take the butterflies out. I know the beast that's within will definitely make itself known then. lol

Thanks to everyone for their input and help. It was greatly appreciated.

Welcome me to the club, now!

I thought the 14 stock was slow but I promise you your trusty but dyno IS WRONG it just feels slow cause its so smooth you keep the RPM's in the right range and even stock it is faster then MOST bikes out there good decision dude enjoy it

No disputing that, but seeing my 12R pull away from me was proof positive that my butt dyno wasn't wrong when comparing it to my 12R. LOL

Thanks BM!

welcome back to the site... check out the many topics about removing the secondaries if you want more bottom end... my personal preference was to leave them in... bike has a ton of power and it makes it a lot more manageable IMHO (esp in twisties etc)

Hawkman You just got to learn to get the revs up a lot faster if you are gonna leave the flies in it is kinda like relearnin... always choose a lower gear

I gotta say your dead wrong man. I'm guessing you haven't tried w/o flies. It's VERY manageable and a LOT more fun.

It is very confidence inspiring in turns but don't try to throw it around like a liter bike or it will get squirrelly with the soft suspension. Tightening up the preloads helps a lot.

I paid $9,950, $10,700 otd in southern MS. I thought it was a good price. I would expect most markets to cost more than that.

195rwhp, flys out and a good map. 510# wet. Hold on.
And even better mpg than your 12r got stock.
I'm sure the turbo gxsr would've caught me if we kept on going......but he did go home unhappy I bet.
LOL.

195rwhp is what Brock got using racing fuel. If I could get that number, that would be amazing. We'll see what the numbers look like with pump gas.

Nobody's even posted cam hp numbers yet, have they?
MR9-10 isn't that hard to buy and run is it? That's what Brock used I think.

Lane splitting in southern California requires the ability to goose the throttle at a moment's notice to get out of trouble sometimes. Can't count how many times the power of the piped/mapped/filtered 12R has cleared me of a lane changing car. I don't want to have to keep it in a lower gear to stay in the meat of the powerband. As it is now...there's no frikkin' way the 14 will get me out of trouble below 5k rpm.
