ZX-14 purchase tomorrow...should I?

Was at a stealership today and was given an awesome price for a red 06 14 and red 07 ZX-10R. I was torn as to which one I wanted. Still am, actually. Was going to pick it up today, but a potential buyer for a car I'm selling came a little later than expected and I wasn't able to. Plan on going in when they open tomorrow. Should I get the 14? Or should I get that sweet ass looking 2007 ZX-10R in red for only $150 more? I need help!

If you know any ZX-12R owners that need parts, let 'em know I'll be parting my red 12R.

This isn't a ZX-6R we're talking about. 10,9 out the door versus 11,1 for the 10R. If you can get an 07 10R for $8,900 out the door, I'll kiss your feet.

Gotta love these kind of responses that have no real numbers to back it up.

In southern California? What other "lots better deals around" have you seen? What kind of numbers are we talking about? Where are they getting it? I can't get around LA County's sales tax and all the DMV/smog/doc fees/etc.

If 10,9 out the door isn't a good deal, then maybe I shouldn't get it?

I wonder what answer you would get if you asked this question on ZX10r.com??? but as I

figure everyone here chose to buy the 14 instead of any other bike I would say we are all

going to say buy the 14 BUt it depends on what kind of riding you are into... Track Days and

twisties and not overly concerned with comfort get the 10... Straight line speed i.e. drag

racing or Parking lot pimpin or if you ,like me, just lke to have the biggest dick in the

neighborhood get the 14 I owned a 05 10r and I like the 14 a lot more but I am 300 pounds

and am into drag racing, there are times I miss my 10 , I miss ridin 5 mile stand up

wheelies and all the squids goin WOW you are the coolest kid in school but I get that on my

14 to when I beat a busa by 9 bike lengths in a 1/4 mile and all the squidberts are like Hey I

thought the BUSA was the fastest bike ever made LMAO then I quote Carlos Mencia "DUh

DUh DUH" that is why we dont pay you to think... hope this helps

Thanks BM. That's a perfect response and a pretty much unbeatable price. I think 9500 is invoice. Even at that price, I think OTD price where I'm at is about $10,500. I figure the dealership is selling it for around $9900.

I've had two 12Rs. Mostly ride for fast straight line speeds. Thought about the 10 because of all the things I've heard about it being such a fun bike. [shrugs] The red looks awful bitchin' in person!

If I was going to get a 1000.... the 10r would not be my first choice.

I would buy an older model, like an 05.

tough call.. both bikes do things slightly differently... there's no diff between the 06 and 07 14 ... red wasnt the most popular color so you might be able to squeeze them down a bit further?

14 is definetly easier as an everyday rider, but a little freaky to lane split with (it's wide) ... nothing you cant get used to. leaps and bounds over the 12R.

I paid $16 K Cdn back in June,
Saw one with 2000 Kms on it at Cycleworld in Toronto (guy getting divorced) for 12 K Cdn....
I judge some of my opinion on the 14 based on the fact that one season down, and deals available everywhre on used and New old sock, I do NOT regret for one monment the money I spent on the 14, and it still impresses me each and everyday, whether I'm looking at it parked, washing it, or taking it out for a boot.
Good luck

Living in one of the top 5 big cities of the US we always pay more for everything!!!...$10.9 is a fair price!!!

If you lived in Louisiana or Mississippi then you'll probably get your left over 14 for $9,9...

I'd say it all depends on your comfort level. I bought the 14 because the 10's ergos were a little too aggressive for me. I really wanted to get the 10 at first, but when I sat on the 14 and then test road it, It was hands down....the 14 was it.
