1417 kit for zx14
I have a 2006 zx14 and i am currently having the 1417 kit installed, along with cams from orient express and the heads ported. I have brocks gen 3 exhaust on it as well. I was wondering how much hp i could expect when the progect is complete.

Depends on the CR, the cams, and the quality of the porting. Certainly good for 225 HP if done properly. If some is good, more is better, and too much is just enough. Enjoy.

Man, I don't see how yall hold to a bike that powerful. My stock 14 feels like it's going to pull me off every time I start tapping into the power above 6000rpm's.

I would be very carefull who you let touch that head man those stock heads are Pretty good
I think 2225 is a little high I would switch to the SMEG and then I can see maybe 218-225
on MRX or MR9 210-215 on pump

Wow! I rode a stock 14 and it feels "Soft" compared to my 1270 cc 2K 12.
I would need to ride a 14 with a pipe, flies out and a map to see what they really have......

Well, I came off a zx6r that I rode for about 3 years and I've only rode a 1000cc (R1) a few times. I'm still getting used to the 14. But that's what I wanted, something I wouldn't get tired of

I watched the movie Eragon yesterday and in a couple of scenes it makes you wonder about what it would feel like to ride a dragon like that. Then I thought about how it feels riding my 14 and I can't imagine the dragon being much more impressive than that. More speed and acceleration than you can use in almost any situation and all completely controllable.
The bike feels a bit soft stock, just pull the flies and tighten the suspension, you'll see what the fuss is about.

Know thi s had been posed but i my self go toff the phone with adams a few hours ago. Earlier in the year i was going to do a stroker motor on my 14 but opted for nitrous instead.it was said that doing a piston kit for the 14 with just piston would be a waste of money for the little amount of gain in hp.
However after a thinking about it ithink next month i am going to do just that. I am going to do the adams kit which is a 1350 a 3mm bore instead of muzzys 2mm. My set-up in which i am going to do will be
1350
ported head
valves/springs tittanium retainers
web cams
race tranny
I may opt out onthe head because kawi usually have good heads from the factory but if adams reccommends it i will probably take the m up on it. I also though about opting the we cam and staying stock but i figuted if i am going to put in a valve spring kit with titanium rretainers i might as well do cams. I am thinking og 215 totally streetable machine with maybe 222-225 on mrx01 because that is the only oxygenated fuel you can spray.
any comment on my future set-up??????

one thing i have learned with building up your engine:
1) dont ask how much money
2) dont ask how much power
because you will always be disappointed.

phytrax The price break down for my kit will be
1450 pistons 3 mmm bore $750.00
ported head $1000.00
valves/springs tittanium retainers $450.00
web cams $750.00
race tranny $450.00

PLus prolly another 2000 in labor so you are prolly lookin at around 3500-4000 total investment for 215 HP i would think a wet kit would be a better investment for the money

If you add $2000 labor I get about $5500 total, but if you can figure out how to make $3500+$2000=$4000, let me know, I got some shopping to do.
It is pretty pricey though. I think I'd rather have a turbo at 5psi or so for that kind of money. I'm guessing you could run close to 250hp with a turbo on the stock motor, maybe a bit more.

Adams quoted me at 3700 labor and all for the same kit so that is why I said 3500-4000 but I see no point in changing the valve springs unless you are goin with some ridiculously high lift cams, according to Brock and I quote "there arent any aftermarket springs out there that are as good as stock" " the only time I would think about changing the springs is if you have to"

Black magic that is some good advice i guess i would knock that off my list. as far as labor the cost was only 1200 hundred bucks even if i went with a stroker. they said the whole engine on the bike has to come apart so there is no difference in the labor price as it would be doing a big bore vs a stroker on a 12. di brock say anything about aftermarket cams. My bike is at 180hp now if i drop the valve spring kit that put me at 3400 dollars if i get 215 hp thats under a hundred dollars per hp which i think is good. I am a street racer aslo and i would love to do a turbo and that is my first thought but getting a street race once someone knows you have a turbo will take an act of congress plus if you do the want so rediculous handicap
