I have no idea what the mpg on my bike is since I modded it. I use the "Range" display all the time and just fill up when needed.

LOL, try the "Instantaneous" mpg display when sprinting or running Flyers. It goes down into single figures.

Street map was about same as stock for me, maybe a little better. Right now I'm running the track map with -7 from Brock's base map from 3500-4750.

Phytrax I had the Vstrom 650 and you would have no trouble goinging anywhere you want. Test ride a 650 and you might change your mind on the 1000

Is there much weight difference? Ok, I see 30 lbs. Otherwise I think I'd rather have the extra power on the highway. I'm not sure 30 lbs would make much difference offroad with a bike that's already so heavy. Any kind of serious offroad riding is going to have you dropping the bike from time to time and messing up that pretty paint job. How's your experience been so far? Price looks attractive on the 650.

I'm wanting to make a high gas mileage map for my 14. Brock suggested just subtracting 5 across the map on the power commander. He said it would give a bit more power too but might run hot in the summer. I did that and it didn't seem to help much. Anyone else done any experimenting with this and have any luck? What I'd really like to do is put a really efficient range in my map at cruising rpm, say 3500-4800 rpm.

I just leaned up the 2-5-10% throttle position from 3k-4500 . I have stock pipes so i just put them back to 0 and left everything above 10% the same so I still have power when I twist it.

Dam good idea. Don't know why I didn't just do the lower throttle ranges. I think I'm going to do -7% from 3000-5500 up to 20% throttle. How much are you leaning it?

If You want to make Your mileage better with PC I'd concentrate to the lower throttle openings between 3k-7k because that is what You are using when travelling on highway. If You can get to a dyno try to get the A/F ratio to about 15:1 on that area. It usually gives the best mileage and is what closed loop systems try to get when "cruising" because it gives the best mileage.

going up to 20% didnt help much. You only need to lean it up to 10% throttle. Since 4k is where I cruise at in 6th gear, I didnt go much higher than that.

You may want to try even lower than 7% in those low ranges. I dont think I could get better than 32 mpg . When I went to 0 map the mileage went back to 38 or 39 mpg if I were just cruising around on the highway.

My crusing gets up to about 5,000 rmp at times. 5,500 is probably overkill but I won't be doing much racing at 20% throttle. Brock had suggested that over 10% lean could cause engine damage, so I'd be careful with that 20%.
