1. Why does MX seem to attract about the same type of fan as NASCAR? Is it the stadium/arena setting? Too lazy to move around to see more corners?
2. What's the best 5-10 year old enduro (street legal) to shop for?

???!!! I sure hope he doesn't read this thread before the questions are asked??!! ha ha
I would like to ask him if he can explain guys like himself and McGrath being able to be so dominant in their sport. Obviously lately not so much McGrath... but how can they fall behind with a bad start , or fall down, falling back by half of a lap and pass others that have been pro racers for years like they are standing still.. all whom are pro sponsored. Is it determination, training, or is there the Michael Jordon feeling of being in the zone?? Ricky has done it on different bikes... and never missed a beat. In this day and age when people grow up racing, how can one rider dominate not just one race, but a whole season?
Second question would be, does he ride street bikes.... and if so, what bikes does he prefer. And lastly... has he ever considered riding in the AMA super bike series... or the SBK with Nicky? One would think that with his natural ability he would not only get sponsored, but he would be competitive from the beginning.
Not ground braking questions, but honest thoughts from a 'simpleton' like myself... Thanks
When is the interview?? I hope you guys have a lot of fun... and lastly... wish him luck!

An interesting question to ask RC would be which brand bike does he think has the best/worst reliability and quality.... Since he spends ALOT of time riding and is able to push bikes to their limits it probably doesn't take too long for him to expose a weakness in a bike...He's ridden for three different manufacturers and probably gets several bikes to use for practice sessions so I'm sure he's been able to notice some patterns in reliability/quality from the different manufactuers especially with his personal practice bikes he's had over the years...
I know he may not be able to give a totally objective answer because of his Suzuki ties, but he may be able to compare his experiences with Honda and Kawasaki objectively...

If you guys had .001% of Rickys tallent then you would be worthy of answering that question. I've raced for 20 years and wanted Ricky's opinion.

You know how it is here... you're going to get opinion whether you want it or not!
Fish... Does Ricky partake in other sports ie; snow, water, sand? What are his plans for the future?

1. How do you feel coming from being at the absolute pinnical of the SX/MX motorsports, to being classified as a "rookie". How do you deal with that transition emotionally?
2. Since you are starting with a top level team, do you feel that you will have a bullseye on your door from the good-ole boys of the series you will start in? Some of the feeder series can be even rougher than the Nextel Cup since they are on the shorter "bull ring" type tracks.
3. How long do you feel it will take to enter your first Craftsman Truck or Nextel Cup race? How many different "feeder" series are you planning on doing before moving up?
4. Many of the top level Nextel Cup drivers know who you are and have followed your career. You are an icon to many of them. That must make you feel good. Will that help or hinder your progress? Does it put more pressure on you to become competitive sooner? Do you think they will cut you any slack?
5. Do you expect to be competitive right from the start?
6. Have you learned from and/or referred to other icons of recent two wheeled history changing to four? Eddie Lawson, Kevin Schwantz, Jeff Ward, Ricky Johnson, etc. What might you do different from them to make the career transition stick?
7. On two wheels, it is more about the rider than the brand of bike. You won on Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki. So it was more you than the bike. On four wheels, it is much more about the car than the driver. Do you agree with that statement?
8. Closing - Those of us who have followed your career since you became the new "flying freckel" (Jeff Ward was the original) will be rooting for you every single step of the way. Good luck and keep-er between the walls!
