Swing Arm Extentions
For those who have run with the Roaring Toyz extended swingarm extentions - I would appreciate your opinion on how well they worked. I would be considering 4-6" over. Did they prove sufficient. Also, how difficult is it to return to stock. Besides a longer chain are there any other modifications required - particularly with the brake. Does the rear shock work adequately with the extended wheel base - I am 215 wo/leathers...
Thanks

I use them, They work well, no real mods except chain, reroute brakeline. Easy 2 return 2 stock just unbolt em, put stock chain back on. Im not gonna comment on the shock cause im no expert on that for sure. Ive tried arms b4, i really just like bolting extensions on and go.

I rubbed at the dragstrip this weekend and I weigh 195 unsuited. I've cranked the spring's pre-load down by six turns, but learned from another zx14 owner that this does not change the springs compression rate--meaning that I have a harsh ride and I still bottom out on launch. I had the compression damping set at 1/2 turn out, but will be decreasing it to 1/4 turn next time out. I've read on another site about a replacement spring that cost $100 from Hypercoils being used with success on +8 McIntosh arm. This beats paying $1000 for a new shock.
If you do not drag race on a track you will probably not rub as you will just spin. I can spin my tire at will in first through third on the street and I'm running a MT drag radial. IMO, the 14 looks bad ass extended.

I had the Toyz extensions also. Was running almost 6" over, and now have a hole in my rear fender. Oh, and my tail light now blows the fuse everytime I hit the brake lever, so I gotta figure out what the hell caused that.
Going with a Trac Dynamics +12 over arm, and the new spring. I think if your over like 165, you better get the spring.
Also saw on the psycho web site that some guy is selling aluminum undertail/fenders, so you might look into that if your not going with the spring. Or, you could just lose weight. With me, that will never happen. 200Lbs suited.
