Back in -00 Motorrad tested Zx12 for 2.5s for 0-100kph(62mph) and 7,0s for 0-200kph(125mph). But of course You can't compare different days and riders...

"Buell" would've been a more fair comparison for the BMW regarding performance

I was at the San Mateo Bike show Saturday. The BMW media show was advertising 164 hp. on their new bike. Just between you and me, that's 164 hp at the crank. The same bike when new only did 147 mph at Bonneville in 2005. I was part of the pit crew. I don't know why some dealers ..... and magazines.... talk about "crank hp" and some 'rear wheel hp".
But on the other hand, I think I know the answer. In the world of aviation, the General Aviation (small, personal planes) dealers advertise their planes' top speeds in mph rather than knots because it's a bigger number and sounds faster. Maybe that's the same with the bike world.

If you read the article,it says the 14 beats the Eyeabuser by right at 1/2 second from 0 -180.
To the normal reader that might not sound like much but it equates to 66 feet.A sound thumping in the world of performance

Thanks to all for the comments. I am amused by articles like this. I have both bikes and think that the ZX unrestricted kicks ass on the s. Well, I continue to be amused.
