obviously shifting on the rev limiter

is not good but I was curious what everyone felt was an optimal shift point for the best et. I assume mine has always been right about 11k , maybe a bit above but I'm a bit numb for the feel and some of you guys are pretty good with the bikes and I'd take any pointers you'd offer

I watch my Tac pretty close ..If the Tac is right i shift just after the needle passes 11k ... somewhere around 11,200 if i had to guess .....You got to be fast because at 11,400 it hits the limiter ... It least on mine it does... I have made my best passes doing it that way...Smokin..

smokin while I got your ear a few questions what did brock set your a/f ratio at between 8k and 11k? And was you that mentioned your bike was running 89 for the extra power??? and was your bike tuned to run the 89 or did brock send you a map for 93 octane and you left it at that??

The Map is brocks race map... It was set up to run mr9 u4 but the notes in the map state 87 89 pump will work ok for street riding ...I ran the 9.18 with brocks street map with filter in place and 89 pump gas ... I was running 93 when i first got the bike but found out the bike runs a little stronger on 89 ...I still have not tried 87 but brock feels it's fine and may make a bit more power... I have not tinkered with the maps at all ...I'll leave that to the Pros like Brock...Hope that helped ...Smokin..

it does, the local guys who tuned my bike said not to do it because it wasn't tuned for that fuel but I'm still curious

I've only ever used 87 and it runs fine. Never had mine on the dyno either

Around 11200rpm is what I shift at, maybe a bit sooner from 1st to 2nd. That's tacho' reading rpm and like most instruments it's not accurate. I believe the actual rpm the limiter cuts in at to be 10800 and my tacho' reads just under 11500 at this point. Several percent optimistic.
