Any reason to be on my 14 is a good reason. I ride it everywhere for any excuse I can think of. I put hard bags on it mostly so I can take it shopping instead of my truck. You'd be amazed how much groceries those bags hold if you're properly motivated. I take it to the pet shop to get mice for my pet snakes and crickets for my pet tarantulas. I take it to Blockbuster a few times a week. I even follow my wife to her family's house sometimes using the excuse that we might need to leave at different times. I put her on the back with me whenever possible though.
I don't care for New Orleans traffic, but I take it to the office there also when I need to drop off paperwork or pick up small supplies, I just try to go at times when traffic is manageable. I know any street riding is dangerous, but I couldn't stand only riding at the track. I'm meticulously careful on the street, so much so that I figure it just must be my time if I wreck. Cagers are stupid, but you can make yourself a hard target it you want to bad enough. I wear all the gear I can afford and leave the rest to the powers that be.
I do wheelies, even though I suck at it. I drag race when I can, though I suck at that too. I got some bling here and there. I like meeting other riders every time I get the chance. I've never been the type to strike up a conversation with strangers, but I feel very comfortable doing so when I'm riding.
Haven't made a bike night yet, but it's at the top of my list. Getting a red shield, plus my seat and hard bags if that counts as bling. Got a 5 day trip planned to Arkansas and a 3 day trip to Tennesee. I don't like dragging pegs on uncertain roads, but I still love the twisties. I just have to ride them twice, once for inspection once for erection.
So if you're asking what I use my 14 for, I gotta go with all of the above.

I use mine for a daily driver. But if I had my choice I would do the twisties all the time. I am 6'3 235 lb. The liter sport bikes are just a bit to compact for my frame and taste. My 14 is set up for me to carve it up to the best of my and the bikes abilities. Which to blow my own horn are conciderable. I do touch down a bit on the rite side on the Tsukigi that I run. But thats O.K. I like the system and the numbers it has produced for me. The 14 is a real well balanced bike and rides alot lighter in the twisties than it actually is.

Mostly for just cruising around. I have few remote places where I feel pretty safe opening the bike up. It still amazes me just how hard this bike charges at the top end!
I have gone on a few day trips and will definately be going on some longer trips next year. Not really into the drag race scene at all, but i can see why people get into it. I do the 'bike night' thing frequently and have met a few guys my age (40's) that have become good friends that I feel safe riding with
I find at the bike nights, riders congregate into their various groups, Harley owners, metric cruise bikes, the 600/1000cc stunter crowds and the high dollar imported bikes, Aprillia's, Ducati's etc. I have picked up some good ideas from talking to other riders regarding worjk they have done to their bikes.

2004 Suzuki SV 650 <--- saw that at the bottom of your signature, do you knee-drag race that bike on the track?

I have an 06 ST 1300 and may trade it for the ZX14. The ST is nice but I don't tour that much and the bike quite frankly is heavy and doesn't have enought HP. Any feedback on how comfortable the 14 is? I would probably get in a couple 4 hr trips a week and i'm not sure if I'll be leaned too far forward and get sore wrists or back.? When I sit on it in the show room, it seems pretty comfortable, but I know, from experience, once you get out on the road for a while, thats when you really find out how comfortable a bike is...

Well a nonstop run from Los angeles to San Francisco and back to Los Angeles via Highway 1 on my 14 was very comfy for me , and that was before i installed a corbin seat.
I'm only 25 but i say it is still a very fast but comfy ride!
