drag race seat
I was just wondering who is using the drag race seat? Im thinking of buying 1. What drilling do u have 2 do? Or other modding? Does it come with a little padding where u sit, 2 help u from sliding around? Does it give u any more space in the back 2 put electronics, like where the passenger area is? Any pics or comments would be greatly appreciated be4 i buy 1.

No drilling, but I did have to open up the front holes that are provided that slide through the stock tabs. The holes provided on mine weren't wide enough. There is no padding, but I've never slid around on it yet. It is hollow, so yes there is lots of space opened as long as you tie everything down. I suggest lining the edging with something to protect your paint, if not , it will scratch your paint all the way around the bike.
Other than that, nice piece.

Pros:It works great....you dont have to drill anything....it makes alot more space to mount things that you couldn't with the stcok seat.
Cons: It hurts your ass....it doesnt come with the padding...it scratches your paint all to hell
I picked up a tenth with this seat. When you sit in it you don't move and it's 8 pounds lighter then the stock seat.

Is the edge in the seat easy 2 put padding on? the last thing i wanna do is scratch my paint all up. You think the stuff they slide on car doors would work?

i thought about that myself.....probaly would but you also have the problem when you sit on the flat part of the seat the fiberglass is pressing up against your paint on your tank. I would think you would also need something on your tank too to help out....

Hey Rick Todd has one down at his shop. He's supposed to hold it for me.
I'm going there today to take a look at it. I'll get some up close pics.

Cut the stock seat out like I did. It still has enuff padding to keep me comfortable but yet sits me down in the pocket. Man does it feel good to sit down lower too.

Well I didn't do it. I had it done by a company called "Ace Upholstery". All they do is motorcylce seats and car interiors. I saw the drag seat that you are talking about but didn't like the idea of the two bolt holes in the back showing plus I was concerned like you are about scratching the paint up and at least some comfort while riding. They charge $150 to do it which includes a new seat cover as well since where they cut out the stock seat area, the stock cover isn't long enuff to go down into the pocket and cover the rest of the seat at the same time. I took it to him on Monday afternoon and picked it up Wednesday afternoon. I live in Maryland.

No problem. I have sat on a 14 with that drag seat and it is fine for the strip but for occasional use, I think it'll make your butt get numb real quick. Just my opinion. Good luck and post up what you decide to do.

I bought them from Greg at ZX14.net
I ordered them like on a Monday and had them by Friday. I kept my stock ones in case I wanted to ever go back plain stock. They were like $230 or something like that for the new grills plus painted.
Thanks.
