Hey bigdtd, just a bit of info, I was down at Schnitz Racing this weekend and they have a few manuals left on their shelf. You may want to try them, if they are sold out let me know I will see if my brother wants to sell his. Either I or Ryan do all the work to our bikes and I have one here in my shop, so my brothers is unused.
Schnitz number is 1-800-837-9730

No it doesn't go away when the clutch is pulled in or when it's in first. The only thing I did that really effected it was when I tightened up the drive chain. It was a little loose and I tightened it one morning before I went for a ride and for some reason, the knock went away. After I got back (about 90 miles later) I could just barely hear it. It's still like it was after the ride and hasn't went back to being as loud as it was before I adjusted the chain. I know that makes no sence, but for some reason that helped it. What do you think?

Now I'm confused.
The manual says to turn it Clockwise till it whines, then back off Counter-clockwise till it stops, then tighten.
But you guys (including the Concours website ) says to turn it Counter-clockwise till it whines, then back off Clockwise till it stops, then tighten...
So which is it?

I don't think it matters which way you go. They say it's on an eccentric (however you spell that) shaft. If you've ever put camber adjustments bolts on a car with front struts, you'd see how they work.

Hey, I just noticed a knocking sound tonight, when I pulled into parking spot. It looks a little low on oil, but I can't get any synthetic right now. You think this will go away if it is full of oil?

Mine started a few weeks after I got mine and with 5000+ miles now, I haven't had a problem. The noise has almost went away. Whatever it is, I'm not worried about. Mike, if you've got a warranty, i'd either take it back to the dealer and let them listen to it or ride the hell out of it like I did. From what I've read on here, there's several noises on the 14 that has caused concern. Try to describe the knock as best as you can and I'm sure someone on here will be able to help.

I doubt it is oil level and long as a little low doesn't mean 3.5 qts low.

Hi Guys,
I know this Thread has been going for a while, but here are my experiences.
I have a 2006 ZX14 with about 10,000km. It has been Drag raced and is in to its 4th season plus has done three years on the Bonneville salt Flats at Speedweek. The engine rattles a little on start up....from the cam Chain but quietens up as soon as the Cam chain Tensioner does its bit. I have been contemplating getting a manual Cam chain adjuster to get rid of the start up noise but Engine is running great and has not been touched.
My No 2 Bike is a 2008 ZX14. has done about 3000km of road use only. Engine has had a knock which has progessively got louder. Initially sound was notible as load backed off ie deacceleration but then became evident under acceleration and at constant RPM.
Engine also begain to use oil to the extent where it had foulded No 3 Cylinder Spark Plug twice with in 100km, and No 3 cylinder died.
All Plugs showed oiling but No 3 was worse where it fouled the plug.
Engine is about to be pulled down by Kawasaki Dealer for investigation and repair.
Any one else heard of this or similar issues???

My 08 has been using about a quart and a half every 3000 miles, Its been this way for about 15,000 miles, Its not leaking at all, I have been told my bike lets out a little smoke when I blast away from my riding friends down the highway, but its not excessive by any means.

Thanks for the comments.
I am in New Zealand. Yes the Kawasaki Importer and distributor in NZ have said they will stand behind the bike with Warranty.
The bike still runs and performs well....but the knocking is still a concern. The bike will be pulled down in the New year for investigation. The local Kawasaki Dealer has adjusted the Balancer shafts but no difference in the noise.
As memtioned the noise comes on both with acceleration and with deacceleration.
Any other thoughts??
