Perhaps one of the reasons for the light weight limit, is due to the fact that any more weight than that, will cause the bike to wheelie all the time, even under medium acceleration. I know my FJR did that with a similar (factory) setup. The front would never stay down with 20-30 lbs in it...it was very annoying and for a rider with little expertise, that could be quite scary, but I managed to get 100,000 KM's out of the front tire on that bike.

You know what that means FBA, just gotta get a huge ass tank bag to balance it out. Throw a sand bag or 5 in there and you can launch at 11,000 rpm.

on a positive note ... the large case really detracts from that COMPLETELY MASSIVE plate they make you wear !!!

Very true, our plates are stupidly big but do you know that other european countries wear a bigger plate?

The front feels a bit lighter but if you crank down the rear preload it's not a big issue.

Ok, "Swallows 2 full face helmets." I gotta get one, going squarely on my wish list. How is the positioning for use as a passenger backrest? If it saves me from paying $240 for the Corbin back rest it will pay for itself easily. Who am I kidding, I'll probably get the Corbin too, for when I want something less conspicuous. Either way, how's the position? Too far back? Too far up for passenger?

Yep, I'm going to be driving the fastest, red, 2-wheeled UPS truck in the country, but I'm ok with that.

Launching at 11k --ouch!:P Besides which...I hate bags of any kind, especially tank bags When I absofuckinglutely have to, I use this bag for stay-over rides, otherwise, it's nekkid dude...

...and this one's only if I have to have a bag to bring shit home...fits right on the seat like it was made for it

Here she is on my bike...only when absofuckinglutely needed though

Thats the exact set-up I have on order. It looks good, I just hope mine will be able to take some of the bumps in the city without ripping off the ass-end.

But this Honda rider doesn't appear to appreciate Harley's?

LOL! That happens to be a friend of mine from my CBR1100XX board. And considering he's about 6'2, 300+ lbs, and a body builder...I don't think too many Harley folks are gonna say anything to him. And no, he doesn't like Harleys...well some Harley RIDERS anyway LOL! It's amazing how some pictures just get around LOL!

If he's 300+ at 6'2" he's either a really good or really bad body builder. Not too many guys in the Olympia are 300+, power lifters maybe. I get the picture though, just had to put in my 2 cents.

FBA, I like that bag, only problem is I don't have use for a rear case unless I'm carrying a passenger on a long ride, so one that fits on the seat isn't an option. I got the hard bags for me and a tank bag if necessary, Joe Rocket Velocity. Thing I REALLY like about the tank bags is I can put my GPS and cell phone in the map holder so I can see my caller ID and not get lost. I hear they are comfortable to lay on also, assuming you don't mind the increased wind resistance.

Garmin Zumo 550 or 2820 GPS...has Bluetooth with caller ID! Also, you'll never use a paper map again!

I've seen the 550, looks awesome, the 2820 too. Boy that's a big chunk of money though. And I don't use a paper map, I just put my Explorist 200 in the map pouch. I still haven't found an impressive bluetooth helmet set either. The wired options look a lot more useful. If I go bluetooth how would I talk to a passenger? Ok, I could call their bluetooth cell phone, but besides that. Sound quality would have to be fairly good for MP3's too.

You really want to talk to your passenger? I personally don't use the BT on the bike, don't stop for calls...but I use an iPOD with UM2C's (earbuds) for sound, but you're right, no decent quality headphones out there in BT. That's why I use canal phones, it's like being right there! Personally, I don't care much about anything else if I have my music...allows me to focus on the riding -- great when I have to really concentrate on the corners. See how threads get jacked around here?:P

EDIT: I'm an idiot, you said GPS in your previous post, went right over my head -- Duhhhhhh

Be honest FBA, we know you thought he could've only meant to type GSX and you noticed how he was missing an "R"!

Uncle Jethro and Jed Clampet would've dreamed of having all these silly bags available back in their day, they could've traded the in the old truck and rode some phooked-up ZX14s to Cali!

A good pair of sound isolating (canal) head phones are amazing, as long as you don't like to sing along. I admit, I do like to sing along when I'm by myself, but the fidelity is so good I settle for lip syncing instead. I have some Sony's I got from Amazon for $35 or so. Very happy with them.

Haven't understood all the fuss about the iPods yet. I have an RCA lyra and it's fantastic for what I use it for. Comes with an armband for working out, and you can access all of the controls easily when it's in the armband pouch.

Looks good! What all do you usually carry? Tire repair kit? Rain suit? just curious as to capacity abilities.

It's an 18 liter bag...it can hold a lot of crap, easily enough for an overnighter for 1...I rarely use it, but when I do, it holds everything except the kitchen sink. Easily holds a rainsuit, small pr. of shoes, toolkit and a lot of other junk. Then you have the top strapping that could hold jackets, pants etc...I've shoved like 30 lbs of junk in there easily.

I have the chicane tail bag. Its very well made and holds a good amount of stuff. The reason Im going with the top-box is that you can leave it on the bike with some semblance of security. With the chicane bag its not something you would leave alone for more than a quick run into the store for something.

Good point. One of the reasons I went with the Beetle Bags.
