Don't count on it. I'm sure that ANY warranty work must be done by "factory trained technicians"

Warranty dude, they dont want to except the liability should something go wrong. They will only pay their dealers to do it.

Fixing your own bike under warranty is just silly (almost trollish silly). It may void future related warranty work. Why do something yourself that someone else will do for free?
I'm a factory trained technician (K-Tech) and would dream of doing the work myself. Not because I couldn't do a better job than anyone else. Just because my time is valuable and I shouldn't be responsible to do someone else's work.

im not happy about someone else working on my bike....i have the ability and skill and shop to do it myself ,i have built 2 harley customs for myself, and 3 dragbikes, and im not a beginner, and been around motorcycles all my life....also that warranty isnt worth the paper it is written on,in my own opinon... TJ ...that's just crazy that you are k certified ,and dont understand my point of working on my own bike, and my time is valuable too( but i know when i do the job ITs rite!!

So just fix it yourself, but no one in their right mind would expect Kawasaki to pay you for it...you're dreamin...btw..."someone else" built your bike...
"warranty isnt worth the paper it is written on"...I've had plenty of warranty work done on both my Kawasaki's and more recently, my R1, with no charges or issues at all...
Maybe you should just build your own bike...then it'd be built "rite" as you put it...

The guy's fixing his own bike because most dealerships have a dumbass 18 yr old tech... That don't know his ass from a hole in the ground...I'M NOT SAYING UR THE 18 YR OLD... I just understand his logic...I've been fixing my own since 1985... Wouldn't let a dealer touch any bike off mine unless i'm around the shop watching... Thats why i've got a tech thats been working on bike's for 30 yrs ...If its more than i can handle...I pay and watch him work...

Most dealerships have 18 year old techs....but they usually just change tires. Don't think for a second that there is no such thing as a good, mature, experienced mechanic at a dealership. Most dealerships (al least here in Cali) use MMI grads that are K-Tech certified. Their training is very extensive and good (I know first-hand). Sure there are good techs and bad techs in the market. Pick a good dealer and find someone you can trust. Go to the dealer and talk with the service manager and lead tech. A 10 minute conversation should give you enough info to help you decide to either have them fix the bike or take it to another dealership.
I like to wrench on my own bikes but I'm not going to do work that someone else should be doing.

Maybe they offer a thin gasket like the 10.
That might be cool for free.

You won't really notice the leak until you look on the engine right under the valve cover gasket. I didn't think I had one either, but when I was doing the exhaust, I noticed some oil wetness on that side, which was unexpected. There are many, many stories of this on this forum and zx14ninja.

Yep..........stock pipes are pretty cheap.......but work fine. I will actually be using that stock piece for my turbo project. If there's going tobe a head gasket problem it will show up for sure then :-)
