Can the 14s alternator handle 15 amps? I just sprung for heated gloves and a heated vest..do I have to worry about the battery not charging?

That would equate out to be about 1650 watts. Most bikes have put out juice for 400 to 800 watts for a heavy tourer. Gloves and heated vest no problem on the ZX. Your not taxing the alternator adversely while running. Your vest and gloves have a watt rating. But should be no problemo.

1650 watts is too much extra load on the alternator.sportbike electrical systems do not have that kind of head room.your gonna fuck some components up.you'll be asking your bike to operate at low voltage even while the alternator is maxed out.
you have been warned!

Huh???
Your power requirements are:
P = VI = 12.5Volts at nominal load (could be a different voltage, check your vest rating) * 15Amps = 187.5Watts, not 1650W...
The alternator's rated output is 35 Amps @ 14V = 490W so you shouldn't have any problems, unless nominal load (meaning power necessary to supply lights, ignition, injection, fan, fuel pump, ecu, sensors, sec. butterflies, etc.) is higher than 20 Amps.
I haven't measured nominal Amps, yet...
