Phoenix cycle show

Just got back from the Phoenix motorcycle show. Nothing new that hasn't been posted here or elsewhere with a few exceptions.

All the 07 14's they had there, 3 of them, had silver rims instead of the brown.

There was a very decked out 10r there, that was for sale from Kaw. Had an after market windscreen, after market dampener (not sure why 10r's come with them), and an Arkopovic slip on exhaust. They had all the extras listed like a car dealership, right on the sticker. Every one of the add on's was sickly overpriced. Exhaust was 1199.......lol for slip ons.

Sickest production bike I saw there, and all the major players were there, was the new 07 Husqvarna 1000 R4 Apollo, I am semi guessing on the name but pretty sure I am right. Its a 1 liter than has an advertised 174.7 rwhp and 83.8 ft/lb of torque. Pretty insane. Sticker was insane also. 30k. And I thought they only made chainsaws.

I didn't take pictures of anything except the 14's rims. Only had my cell with me, forgot to bring a camera. Wish I would have there was camel toe everywhere. Either way, will try to post up the rim pics later on.

they had 3 07 gxr 1000's. Blue/white, yellow/blk, and met. orange/blk. The met orange/blk I thought was the best looking one. When you go tomorrow tool guy, pull on the clutch. I cannot believe how light it is. Also the Suz rep said there is no plans for a busa change to beat the 14. He said there is a European version of the Busa already out that is lighter, and they might be planning on putting that out for the new Busa, but it is something that already exists. They way he made it sound to me is the Busa is old technology, and there would likely be a completly different named, and design bike for that "class" of bike.

Guy showed me how the 3 maps work, just a simple up down switch on the right side. Seems pointless to me however because you cannot put a custom map in there. So once you do the exhaust, or other mods, it is going to be PCIII again and custom map. I don't understand how anyone could pick a 1000 gsxr over the 10r, but to each his own. Out of all the Jap bikes I thought the R6 was sick looking. There is an R6s there also, but not sure what that was.

Both of the roaring toyz 14's are there. One in a contest and one in the Kaw area.

Helmets/jackets and other accessories are extremely cheap there, so bring some cash with ya if your shoping for them. No backpacks, I was looking for one, and very few aftermarket stuff. Only saw the led rear turn signals for the 14 there, in the big tents to the right of the entrance.

Overall, my 2 friends I went with and myself ended up spending more time in the parking lot checking out all the bikes there. There must have been at least 1000 of em out there. Think we saw the whole show in about an hour and spent 2 hours in the parking lot.

Oh yeah, and Sony has a huge display of PS3's inside in the end zone area. First time to the new stadium for me, it is awesome. Too bad the team they built it for isn't worth it.

have you sat on a new R1 Steve?

my buddy has owned 2 R1's back to back. He is an R1 freak. He just got rid of his 04 and got an 07 10r instead. There is a lump right on the gas tank that when you lay down on it, it hits you right in the solar plexes. It is sickly annoying and would probably hurt if you hit a bump of any kind. He was so mad and disappointed with the engineering of that, he said screw them and bought the 10r, hehe.

The R6 is sick looking though from the front.

Haven't had a chance to sit on an '07 R1. Went to the dealer here in Tampa to look at them and they told me it'll prolly be months before they get one..
