How far should I stretch it?
Well I have been running pretty good but I am getting killed of the line. I just ordered the shinko 200 rear tire and did away with the bt014. This should help me hook up. I have lowered it as well. I am thinking about 71/2 inches. These are the mods, lowered, pc, brocks smeg, and the flies are still in. Smokin or somebody help!

Well remember this the longer it is the easier it is to spin the rear tire ... If you go real long you have to run very little air pressure in the tire and that kills your MPH...At one time i had mine at 5 1/2 over and i think it needed to be shorter....If the track wasn't hooking i could spin in 4 th gear....On the street with a long arm you will never hook it no matter what tire you have ...If i was to make a guess i would say 61 to 62 inchs would be about as good as it gets ,, Now on the tire deal , Brock has gone 9.0s with the stock tire and i have gone just about as fast with stock tire...So i don't understand why your having a problem hooking unless you track is real crap.... Now on to the Shinko tire > it's a heavy ass tire and you have to haul that heavy sucker down the track with you ....Most fast zx14s that have long arms are running a lighter 180 shinko..... So you really don't need a 200 tire...
I have to ask > How fast have you gone ? What kind of 60 foot times are you getting? What air psi in the stock tire? I ask this because i need a base line to help you with your problems.... I will tell you this, if you leave it stock wheel base you will in the long run be a much better drag racer with higher skills ...If you get fast at stock wheel base you will be really fast when you do add more swing arm......Sorry but there is no quick fix to go fast, it takes lots of seat time to get fast ...I just don't want to see you give up to easy on the stock wheel base ...Smokin...

I have been 9.46 at 149. I have to find my slip to get the 60 time for that run. My psi was down to 15lbs. I don't know if that makes a difference but I only weigh 130. I am ok on the track but it is a pretty shitty track. Ever time i shift to 2nd, she breaks. Also I am not strapped. on a couple of incidents, she has stood up in 3rd. i guess i am ripping the throttle too hard. This only occured when I kind of rushed the bike out of a spin in order to run down someone. The only reason I am stretching it is because. the stretched gsxr1000, and the extended hayabusas are killing me off the line but I am getting lucky enough to outride them and catch'em. From time to time, I get a little to anxious and the bike stands up every gear. once I settle down, I am good. The guy out here that is killing everyone reccommended that I stretch it but it does not need the strap. I dont know about that one but I am learning so I take everything into concideration.

15 psi is why your MPH is down, you should be right at 151 mph ...Sounds like your track is crappy, our track will do that now and then.... You really need a strap and that will stop all that 2 and 3rd gear wheely stuff ... You will be able to launch harder with the strap but it will still wheely in first if pushed to hard ....9.49 is really really good for no strap....Get a strap and i'm betting you knock off a 10th.........If you do add some arm you will pick up 1.5 to 2 tenths easy but you still need a strap ...With the longer arm a strap comes in handy , you can leave it kind of lose if it's not hooking and as the bite comes around you can pull it down and go even faster ..Think of it as a 23.00 dollar tunning aid ....9.49 with no strap and a shitty track you are riding that puppy real good.. smokin..

How about leaving it alone and getting a sticker tire in the rear? I can launch just fine on a stock wheelbase with a Michelin Pilot Power on concrete or asphalt. It's all in the methodology!

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........don't think a stickier tire is gonna prevent the wheelies.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Oh yeah, the track really sucks. the shut down area scares the hell out of me but i think I have found another one to attend. Thanks!

I think this goes back to rider taste....I like my bike stretched. I'm 7 inches over and planning more next year. If you think you have reached your limit on stock wheelbase go longer, or you can add hp or less weight. All will make you go faster you just have to decide which path you will go down.

I decided to lower the front as well and drop two teeth in the front sprocket. so now I am 7.5 inches, 15 in the front and lowered front and back. also some cool looking frame sliders. I will try to post some video or at least some pics.
