Rickey Gadson "Mr. Kawasaki" knows Kawasaki inside and out.
Surely he wouldn't make a mistake like that. IIt wont be our 2007
model but maybe 2008 for us. I need to start saving now.
Nice pics.

anyone can make a human typo error
However, it would be unrealistic for Kawi to designate a big bike as an "R" model....but then again after the "flames" stickers I'm convinced they're capable of doing anything!

Typo, +1. He was just making a point that the 2007s are out already over there, and they should start hitting overseas here soon.

If you are saying why is it hard to believe that there is a ZX14R. It's not a matter of believing. It's a fact. There is no "R" model. and if anybody should know it would be me.
BUT if your saying why can't people just accept there is no R model. +1 to that!

Here ya go guys .. buzzard meat: LOL I posted this few weeks ago when the subject came up on another Kawasaki Forum.
.." My take on a ZX-14R."
Feel free to disagree.. just the way I see it...I realize a number of guys actually expect one built.. I just don't; nothing personal...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I find it hard to see a ZX-14R based on the strong 1000cc market already happening...they already are offering more than most riders can handle...
Be difficult to build a sport bike with 1352cc worth of Ninja power that is much more lightweight than the current ZX-14 and also offer a managble package along with it...
be too much beast...
ZX-14 is already heavily detuned (bottom end) as is;
Kawasaki would have to "detune" much more (if lightened) for production... that would be contrary to a sharper super-sport oriented ZX-14 ...
... Just too much Ninja motor with 1352 cc ...be an obvious overkill I think.."sport tourer" category is it's destiny.
I would love to see it however ...be nice...be interesting to see what will be built few years from now...
In favor :
Kawasaki has managed to build a ZX-10R for 2006 that is just as powerfull as the 04-05 ZX-10R and is indeed more manageble by altering it's geometry ; some call it tame and yet it is quicker around the track .. but with 1352cc?? Kawasaki can answer if it can be done and marketed... the hayabugly might make it happen....never be a track bike.. just competition to the Hayabugly class...
We really don't have an exact definition of what is all meant by "R"...Call it anything you like..Kawasaki will build to beat the Suzuki's top flagship.. can count on that...
Myself:
Id like to see a non-street legal factory drag bike ZX-14 like Harley has done with the destroyer.. but thats dreaming...
No need there really as drag racing the current ZX-14 is not all that difficult ...I want a warehouse full of bikes and vehicles like Jay Leno...then I won't care what they build...

I want a zx14r 389 pounds, 160 to 170 hp, shorter wheelbase, more race like ergo's, slipper clutch, lap timer built in. Oh wait they already have all that it's called a zx10.

This whole "R" thing seems to get some good play on the internet forums. I don't understand why anyone that wants a race replica doesn't just buy a race replica (like the ZX-10R).

The 14's are stockpiled here. 06's are being marked WAY down now that the riding season is all but over. I think the slow release and marginal performance increase over a 12r or busa really hurt sales. You can pick any color you like and make a low ball offer now.
One dealer owner near here is cutting way back on 14's for 07. He's been in the buisness sence the late 70's days, and feals the 14 will sell even less next year. He's sitting on several 06's that he wont make a dime on now. And he feals the rumors of a new busa will Kill sales of 07 14's.
The gsxr 1000's were flying off the floor thou. And all the 4 stroke dirt bikes were VERY hot sellers this year.
