Ivan's TRE

Does this site sell the tre, or can you only buy it from Ivan? Since I am here in South Africa, how do I go about buying this product?

Riaansh, as a fellow SAfrican, don't bother with the TRE, rather throw your money away. As halvefast says, do some reading on this forum and rather remove the secondary butterflies, and buy a PC. OK, lets hope this is the TRE post.

+1 Why loose the gear indicator when the PC installation and butterfly removal is so damn easy and gives better results.

Yeeee hiiiiiii! Here we go again. So I'll add some info and stir up the pot. Ivan's got a new TRE for the ZX-14. The TRE-006A, which is supposedly made for flies out. Basic advantage is that it gets rid of the popping and backfiring during a decel. Here's his notes from his web site.

Requires sub-throttle plate removal & special mapping.
Gets rid of fuel shut-off on decell -
This will allow smooth on/off throttle transitions and will get rid of the annoying pop when the throttle is reapplied.
Gets rid of part throttle timing retarder in lower gears.

Haven't tried it so I can't offer any objective data on how well it works or does not work.

Well BROCK and FISH.. it looks as though another testing essay is in order??!! I look forward to the 3 page test coming next month... I just hope that you don't have to pay $89.00 for the thing to test it... I look forward to the Ivan's TRE made 'specifically' for the Brock Hindle pipe!!! That will be the turd bridge... Kinda like who needs a fuel guage ....... cant count the miles ?...... keep track by road signs , pretty soon you end up chopped up like a chopper
But with a ton of handling and power!

Ok I got it. Some for the tre and some not. I'm not a tuner or an expert in a pc. I have a p\commander at home. Was looking through the instructions and the cd. Installing it is easy, butttt the other stuff not so easy. Doing that throttle positioning, and the maps. I am afraid to mess up something and then the flies is out. I won't put them back again, you know the screws. Then i also need a map for no flies stock exhaust. As you know the nearest dyno is faaaaar away. Thats why i thought a tre would be a simple solution. Will it be possible for someone with minimal experience to do all these things.[p\commander].

Removing the flies is pretty easy, don't take much skll IMO. pc is easy to work with as well, but if the tuner is far away from you, that's a different story.
