202.6 HP and 8.48 in the 1/4 Mile (pump gas, stock wheel base)
Ok ok it was done on a dyno, not at the track. SmokinZX14 is on the left and I am on the right. He easily won the fastest 1/4 mile ET of the day and I won the 1/2 mile top speed. We each took home a nice trophy and a T-shirt. Obviously the Dyno readings are high but it sure makes you feel good about your bikes performance. FINALLY now I have some inflated dyno numbers to throw around. God knows those come a dime a dozen round these parts. It was lots of fun none the less.

Inflated dyno numbers, I'm rolling!
Looks like fun.
And all you had was a pipe a PC and a map? way cool.
Any bike, any dyno, any day, all different numbers, its nice to see the the 202.6 it'll look good on the wall.
It just goes to show, THIS BIKE IS AWSOME!
I'm really amazed after 8500 miles since i bought mine in April I have had NO problems with it.
Being a first run and all you'd thing something would have been engineered wrong and needed improvement.
For a guy like me, flys in, flys out dont matter I'm in the 7000 up rpm range most of the time anyway, it pins the sides of my mouth up into a smile all day, you just cant explain it to the people that don't own one.
I thought Smokin's bike was mod'd out the same why were his numbers lower?

Tonys bike made more HP than mine because he drained all the oil out of his and added some top secret Killer Fish oil .. lol..... All joking aside we had a great time today and we will be going next year to defend our titles ....Our zx14s put on a great show and people were asking us all kind of questions ... Most had never even seen a zx14 but had heard that they are fast ass bikes ...We were happy to show them that the storys were true .. Smokin...

wish I'd have known ya'll were going to be there -
I was busy showing the management at Tampa Motorsports what a horrible condition the serive shop gave my bike back and explaining how I'll never be back for any reason and wouldn't trust them to even touch a child's bicycle to have the training wheels taken off.... then a friend with a ZX10 and I went riding, stopped for 50 naked wings at Wings on Hillsborough LoL

I wish it would really run 8.48 @ 157 ... It's pretty easy to do strapped down on a Dyno and just a little harder to do at the drag strip... On the dyno you can drop the hammer at 7000+ RPMs and not worry about the bike ending up on top of you.. I guess if we had wheely bars and a slick on a zx14 we could come close to those numbers....Smokin...

When you fall off the bike on the dyno you don't get any bike damage - it's the only way to race :-)

Thanks Bently , i ran it some today and all seems well so i'm keeping my fingers crossed ... One thing for sure the Shinko tire didn't like the Dyno !! Byron Hines was there and he told me that soft tires like the Shinko or a drag slick was a no no on a dyno.. Smokin...

Is your tire ok to continue using? It sure melted that thing down. I wondered if it still rides smooth and balanced. It took a beating.

Damn good numbers. Sounds like fun, why is the dyno runs more harmful then a balls out drag run or 1 mile run for that matter?

That drum is very heavy and has lots of resistance, more than launching your bike on the road. A 600 could not launch on this machine without starting very slow. The 750's had a very hard time getting the drum moving. Torque is the key to getting that thing moving quickly. Also, they strap the rear of your bike down VERY tight (the rear is not strapped down like this on standard dyno tuning) this creates a lot of friction which also puts a strain on the motor and eats up the tire. There was a 500hp turbo & nitrous Busa there who made two 1/4 mile runs and just blistered his rear tire. It had blister bubbles all over it along with a big chunk of rubber missing. We saw multiple chains and belts get destroyed as well.

LOL I never noticed that. That was the 1.5 second red light.
Keep your foot on the brake until you launch. Can't you follow directions?
