Femmoto

So... I went to Femmoto this weekend. Girlee (my wife) and her sister and I all rode our bikes to Vegas from Phoenix
This is to everyone who reads this. It was an amazing event. I highly recommend going next year to everyone.
Guys: If you have a woman in your life (Wife, Girlfriend or even Mother) TAKE HER!! If she rides even better. Pay the money (I think about a hundred a day) and she will get to ride some of the best bikes out there. It costs nothing to watch.
Girls: It is the best opportunity out there to ride so many bikes and meet women like you who love to ride bikes. There were over 350 this year!!

Kawasaki brought over thirty bikes and all put together there were over sixty to ride at each session!

The people who organize this event are "First class" Bonnie and Monty really love to do this and it shows! They are help by their son "Regular" Robert and many track coach's friends and track workers who help put on this amazing event.

The track coaches were all very helpful and would make suggestion in between sessions to help with riding style and some anxiety with those on there first track day. Although it is technically a Demo day it is possible to put in a few fast laps as the day progressed. I saw many including my wife and sister-in-law made great improvements.

Guys... I was hugely jealous of the opportunity afforded to the girls here. Although it was widely the consensus (among us men there) that no one could do this event for men. It would be major carnage and mayhem. With all bike being destroyed. We are like that!

Also involved: The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation "Race For The Cure". A portion of Club Femmoto membership fees will go towards this cause along with a donation from the proceeds of Femmoto 2006. They donated over 10,000 this year!

I too went to Femmoto (as a participant) and had a blast. It was probably the most fun I've ever had in two days. I am absolutely hooked.

Guys: I would say that I am sorry you couldnt ride, but I am not. ;-)

To the Venders: you cant even imagine how much we appreciated all your hard work and sacrifices you made this weekend. We realize that not only is it money out of your budget, but its also time away from your families. But know that its an experience that none of the 336 participants (and friends) will soon forget.

To fellow riders: I got to meet some great friends this weekend and I hope to see you all next year!! (Bring more people!)

And BTW, Guzzu also had a Nevada Clasic there. :-)

Ducati also had the S4R monster (which I didnt ride because of the realized hazard it has on my life!!) But the S2R is my next bike!

Buell also had the XB12R (firebolt) and the Lightning there..

Hey, I too have just returned from the Femotto Vegas Track Demo Day!! Bigger than ever this year, My friend attended with me and "burst into flames!", she had never been on the track before and was just on fire. I think she surprized a lot of people with her natural skills. The track coaches were extremely helpful and very interested in helping to develope good lines and riding technique. I myself fell in love with the Ducati 999S, All others "pale" in conparison. I have never had such an experience in all my track daze!! I am searching for one as we speak. ( well a 749, Budget dictates, or perhaps the 4S Monster) in anycase time will tell. The Kawasaki zx6RR was pretty awesome too, and the Aprillia RSV Factory, and Torono certianly were right up there as well. But hey not everyone wants a track bike, Among the others Moto Guzzi had some cool offerings as well as the new Kawasaki 650...All in all I met some extraordinary people, some fantastic dealers , and started taking notes for next year. As I came up the pass to my home I was greeted by a freah blanket of...yeah..SNOW!!! so I guess Ill start waxing my skiis. ( its a linear thing)) so all you ladies who missed out this year, let's do it next year!! Go Femotto!!
