Bently..I don't know a whole lot about the nitty gritty of drag racing except what I read about it from you and the other seasoned drag racers here but, this guy has a habit of talking shit about things he obviously knows nothing about...I'm in it with him on another thread over HID's and he just won't give it up, even though he is sadly mistaken and 100% wrong.

FBA i normally don't let shit bother me , but I know dragracing inside and out. And I still stand behind my results from the two pipes. and I'm sure smoking will as well. as he will go faster yet. And the track is the best dyno hands down if you have weather stations and so on. Everyone one this board know's i never got on here and braged about my dragracing. But I would hate to know how many 1000's of passes I have made. As far as the HIDS go mine worked great on the Busa but can't speak for the 14.

quote: [quote Re read my post ...I said (That's more LIKE a 7 to 9 hp gain ) and i still have my flys in place...... My test was Muzzy pipe that run 9.44@147 to the Brocks pipe that ran 9.32 @150.60 .. You do the math, how much HP is needed to pick up 3 + Mph in the 1/4 mile?
Pipes don't make runs dude..the rider does.
You can't compare which pipe makes more horsepower by your 1/4 runs, unless you mirror every aspect of the run ie; reaction time, 60 ft time etc.
Get a clue. Well i can see you know nothing about drag racing ....reaction time has nothing to do with you ET or MPH .The light can turn green as as long as you don't trip the beam you time will never start ... Look Buddy i have been testing and tuning for 33 years and for the last 32 yeas have been building race engines ... So sparky don't tell me come in here telling me to get a clue ... You get Get a Fucking Clue ....And just for your info the test runs where done at the same track , same temp and same Humidity % .. I had 100 passes on the Muzzy pipe and my first pass off the trailer the Brocks pipe when 9.37@150.40 With a crappy 60 foot time ...The Muzzy was tapped out with 100 runs and the best it ever made was 9.44 @147..

quote: That's what I thought your the one with No Clue reatction time has Nothing to do with your time what so ever. you can sit at the line for 2 seconds and still run a 9.50, have you ever been to a track. and by the why this is coming from someone that in 582 post have never called out anyone. But had to this time. 60 ft times do matter. Oh ya and what's your dragracing experience. I'm sure other dragracers like smoking and flatoutbu will also tell you the same thing. Oh ya and I never lost any weight when I went from my muzzy's pipe to my brock. always 216 in shorts.
uh...okay
sit on the line for 2 seconds and run a 9.5...uh huh...okay
Brocks pipes are the best....uh huh...okay. Not to say it doesn't put out good hp, but the rider does matter on the 1/4.
Jeez 216?....are you height proportionate? Since you bring up weight....a rider weighing 60lbs lighter than you running stock pipes would run pretty close to your times, of course riding ability being equal of course. Still don't get it?

Ya I can sit at the line and have a 2 second reaction time and run 9.50. Why don't you actually go to a track and ask people who actually race if reaction time changes your et, wow that seems simple. And just remember I never slammed you or your wife, just you knowledge of dragracing which you have none. And smokin has never got on here and bragged about his 1/4 times just told his numbers so his ego is fine. Do some checking on the reaction time thing and admit you were wrong and that shows me you not so bad.

I never Brag about my racing ... If you took the time to read any of my posts you would know that ... I also never said a word about your wife.....WHAT don't you get about R/T time? You can set at the line with the green light on for 3 hours if you like and it will not change your ET and MPH .....Get this and it's pretty simple ...If you don't move when the light goes GREEN you never break the Starting Beam...Time on your Run doesn't start till you break the Beam.... Hey give Rob Muzzy a call he will tell you the same thing ..Better yet call NHRA and tell them you are right and they are wrong ...That will go down like a lead turd..

You are somewhat correct, I have a old '93 Hummer but it mostly sits in the garage with the other "toys."

I pulled up to the start line last night next to SmokinZX14 while he finished his ice cream cone. I was at the ticket booth before he took off and he still smoked me. The moral of the story, enjoy your ice cream cone because reaction time doesn't mean shit.

OK, for all the drag racing noobs and wannabes:
Reaction time is one of the most misunderstood parts of drag racing.
It is arguably the most important part of the run - during competition.
However, while running a time trial and trying to get a "personal best", it means NOTHING!
A simple example was when my wife (relatively inexperienced) was trying to break into the 7's (1/8 mile) in her daily driver Z28. I told her to go to the line, let the light turn green, get the revs where she wanted them, then concentrate on the launch. She did that, broke into the 7's, and was very happy. I don't remember the exact RT, but it was probably as least 3 seconds.
Another prime example would be turbo cars that have a large turbo for maximum power that take awhile to build boost. I have seen them sit there looking at the green and when the boost builds, launch to a best time.
BTW, I HAVE left on the first yellow against a buddy (just messin' with him) and it didn't seem to give me any better time! LOL! Why not, if reaction time makes a difference?
OK, for the experienced drag racers here (we know who you are), a little fun question:
What point in time is the reaction time measured FROM?
