PC question
Hi all, please could you assist. If I by a PC, can I install it on my bike and download a map with a laptop, or must I take the bike to dealer? (I live in remote area and will need to get one shipped)
Also, assuming above hold true. Do the power comanders have USB or serial connectors?

I don't why you're buying a PC?
I'll share my experience, but I'm not a bike expert.
I needed a PC and map for my aftermarket full exhaust. I purchased an exhaust from the most reputable vendor, Brock (not open for debate!). Since that outfit is 5-star, the PC I ordered was pre-mapped per my request to match my bike in its current configuration. Because I'm hard-headed I hooked up my 'puter and verified.
Many take their bikes to dealers/shops to have them dyno'd/mapped. I haven't felt the need.

Yes you can download your own map with a laptop. I found a PC for $249 on ebay and downloaded the maps from DJ site. You can modify the maps on the laptop as well and save/download them. If anyone has similar mods and is willing to share their map , you should be pretty close.

Thanks for the info guys. Need PC for removing my flies. I assume when purchasing the PC they give you software to load onto your laptop to 'see' the PC.
PS From what I've read I would also use Brock, but Brock is very far from me. I'm based in South Africa.

you can download the software from the DJ site, and a CD comes with the PC also .
