Big bore and stroker kits
Carpenter racing has more agressive cams, porting and headwork...
212 RWHP and Bob said their dyno is a pessimistic one.....
13:1 compression Big bore kit runs around another 10-12 HP
Itl cost ya though... about $ 100 per HP.
Orient express has some less agressive cams, porting and headwork with the big bore kit running about 215 RWHP.
Skip said working on carillo rods ($650)and stroker kit too.($850)
Inquired and he agreed the balancer shafts must remain, rear is the link between starter gear and crankshaft.
Both front and rear have oil galleys runnin thru them....
dump the weights and fab lightweight shafts.....
100 HP wet shot for around $750
50 HP dry shot for around $350
Left my quotes at work... but these prices are pretty close...
Skip was very informative and interested in conversation.
naturally aspirated is around $100 / HP no matter how you look at it.
oh, yeah and Muzzy rep told me turbo development ongoing right now, were workin on it today he said.... no specs, targets or prices yet.
was very polite! :thumbsup

Don't hold me as gospel, cause I'm tryin to remember all the all the configurations and the prices, but the 1417 bore kit with 13.5 :1 pistons including bore and replate the cylinders was around $1300 , labour not included and ship top half of crankcase to them.
if you already got the bottom end split might as well install stroker crank and carillo rods for $1500 more.
The stroker is still in development, but I am guessing around 1500cc, which would net around 25-30 RWHP.
Cams and head work would net around 20-30 rwhp depending on who's system you use, and the prices ranged $2100-2700.
Bore $1300
stroke $1500
cams and headwork $2700
total ... $5500 for about 60 RWHP , or around 240 RWHP.
Development is coming, by next spring things should be in full swing for options and opportunities.
Me... I think I'll go wet N2O...
I'm cheap though.
100 RWHP for around $1000 with progressive controller

I go with spray if i could hide it well ....I like the sleeper look ... Stroker or big bore kit you can hide easy.. I would do the stroker kit with a 2 mill over bore and stock 12.1 pistons so i could still use pump gas .. That would make a great everyday driver and one hell of a sleeper.....

Problem is you have to use shorter rods with any stroker crank on the ZX-14. You can't space the cylinder up or move the piston pin up any further in piston.

Rob Muzzy and Ryan Schnitz are both online right now... could either of you elaborate on the big bore options for the zx-14? how about turbo development and possibilities?

I love strokers and have a few 572 and 500 cid stroker motors..... Ryan what rod angle and rod ratio do you end up with a 1534? I would hate to end up with a 1.4 or lower , 1.5 and up would be good.....Smokin ...

Robs right on this .. you don't want a big bore turbo .. To much heat passing in the wrong places... Big bore turbos seem to boil the water in the head and block... Add stroker crank if you want but keep the bore small..... You will allway get more power out of a stroker than a bore anyway....

I guess I'm too used to BBC's where you can get away with almost anything as long as you don't go completely nuts with boost levels. My only turbo bike was a Kz1300 bored .100" over with a turbo, which made it a 1392cc motor. It made for some thin liners but it held up OK even under 27 lb. of boost. Now it lives at SWFT's house . . .

not sure about bikes, most of my experience is with BBC and SBC's.
Would the stroker cut down engine life much? Would think Turbo or NOS would really cut in to engine life.
I am sure I am like everyone else, eventually I will get use to my new exhaust, PCIII, next mod, next mod, so on and so forth. I can see myself building up the motor, going turbo or NOS eventually. But for me I would like the more reliable option.
