Your Dream 14 Engine-- If you had some money hidden under a rock in your back yard and you knew your wife wouldn't leave you-- what would you do to make your 14 engine the fastest (horsepower) in the country and still keep it under 1650 cc's? Right now I am not concerned with nitro or turbo. I would also appreciate you telling me who makes/offers the particular product and/or service. And-- when your dream engine is together... how much horsepower would you expect to have? Thank you in advance.

Call Coby Adams he has seen more of the inside of the 14 than anyone besides Kawasaki themself. He'll tell you all that can be done. 704-662-0992

je pistons 8:1, rods, falicon crank 1500 + cc
remove the secondary balancers
Undercut tranny, hardened gears and shafts... it would need it!
oversized 5 angle valves, ported head, bigger cams, bigger tb's and a fat intercooled turbo, with progressive boost controller.
If its for speed trials, and 1/4 miles... forget the intercooler, NOS will cool the charge instead.
600 + HP.
Intercoolers are good for daily drivers.
NOS will do the same thing, but for short durations.

tire pressures, and heavy rear wheels may help the traction!

If you are keeping it normally aspirated: increase the capacity and compression ratio, gas flow the head, fit larger injectors, high flow air filter and Blueprint the engine. That should get 210 to 220 RWHP and be good for 210mph in the right conditions.

Compression ratio is the biggest boost for NA. Stroker will give you a ton more torque. Look at it this way: Muzzy's 1270 kit was good for an honest 195 rwhp. That's a solid 20 hp higher than a 12R with Pipe, PC3R, K&N, etc...It was'nt so much the extra 71cc, it was the 1.5 (check me on this) boost in compression ratio. Taking the motor to 1361 bought you (once again typically) another 15-17 hp, but a TON of torque. In fact the numbers lined up favorably (typically110+ lb/ft) against a stock ZX14. It will be interesting to see what comes out by next spring!

+1
Totally agree about compression.
10% increase for every point of compression, if temps and detonation are kept at bay!
My buddies used wonder why their piped, bikes could not keep up with my stock CR500.
It wasn't stock!
I shaved the head, and bumped compression from 6.9 :1 to 11.5 to 1, and rejetted.
Could walk away from the bikes with rad valves, and pipes!
Of course later I learned how to port, oval bore carbs too., and cut the head
Would still run stock pipe, with aftermarket silenser.......
55 vs 72+ HP 220 lbs bike!
BYE BYE ! LOL
