A zx14 back wheel with sprocket and everything like you would pull it off the bike is 39 pounds...I pulled the stock OE wheel off the cousins 02gsxr 1000 with the same tire (shinko)...just like you would pull it off the bike and it was like 26 pounds...

BTW, CS You're still a punk to me, I'd much rather be an old codger like myself than a young punk with bad taste and an inferiority complex.
i would pay good money for you to say that to my face. that goes for FBA too. what the fuck is a 40 year old to me? or a 50, or 60? how does it feel having to take a fistful of meds for you to feel "young" and "normal" again? erectile difficulties? bum ticker? senior citizen discounts? social security? i dont know much about that... but i do know that i am young, healthy, and have the testosterone that you could only dream of. grimey old men have glass jaws, from what i understand. nothing like some internet tough guy talk i guess talking shit on the net is the only reason why i post here anymore. you need to understand that you are less than half the man you used to be... and i have my whole life ahead of me... your expiration date is soon.

I don't quite have a foot in the grave yet, and I'm in better shape now then when I was when I was 20. OK, this picture is one year old but working out with a trainer 3 x a week for the past 11 months has made me a bit stronger. OK, I ruptured a disc but you can do that at any age. I may be old but I can still spank your fat ass.

1) 2 months ago-- someone deliberately cut me off on my 10R -- he won't do that again....before that, last summer -- same thing. Happens at least once every few years. Someone hits my wife...will be the last time they hit anything. I don't stoop to your levels hitting women, I leave that shit for your punk ass -- junior.

Never said 100K...more like 60...there are pics of it on here somewhere...I posted before. You callin me a noob? Now that's funny...I was wrenchin' before you were a fucking sperm (and yer still a sperm ).
Tell me, do you even know where to put the air into your tires? Wait, don't tell me...oh, you blew those too...still waitin fer daddy to give you yer allowance so you can go get Elmo to fix yer engine and patch yer tires?
My buddies don't protect me from pussies like you because they know I can handle the warm (not heat -- you're to much of a pussy to give me "heat"). We're buddies because most of us have things in common, one of which, is that we like razzing little fat ignorant fucks like you who think they know everything, but usually leave here in a matter of a few months, because they don't have the stamina to last here.
My picture of you...let's see now...about 5'9" tanned and fat -- 220 lbs wearing shorts and running shoes while riding your busted down, bling-blinged 12. Tough -- you think you are, but you've got no heart, 1st one to go cry to daddy when thing get a bit rough...
Anyway, if ya don't stop yer raggin. I'm gonna have to ask Toolman to teach you a lesson...he's 6'5" and 320 LBS....looks meaner than Goldberg -- he's a moldmaker/ machinist...and he uses little fat fucks like you to grease the molds so the plastics pop out easier. Should be fun to watch...and he woulddn't charge me to watch either.
Yer still

Not trying to steer this thread back on track or anything, but some of my thoughts on the topic:
I think chrome is a personal taste thing. Some like white, some like black. It's personal taste.
I do have a fair amount of experience in both polishing and chroming. One thing I can tell you for sure is finding somebody that can properly chrome aluminum is not a slam dunk. I've heard many, many stories (documented) about piss poor chromed aluminum wheels, so you really gotta shop carefully.
Delamination is a concern for sure, something that could be started by even a careless tire mounter.
That being said, if you keep a clean bike (or car) polished parts are not hard to keep up.
You just have to be diligent because if you let things go then yes, they become a maintenance nightmare. There is a product called Never Dull that works extremely well on polished, non-clearcoated aluminum.
There is a visual difference between chrome and polished aluminum. Chrome is much sharper and bright while polished is softer and more subtle. Depends on the look you are after.
IMO go for what you like and who cares if somebody else likes it. You can't please everybody all the time.
As far as CF is concerned, I know that pound for pound it's stronger than steel, but until I see the AMA guys running it and comfortable with it at 190 and it becomes a little more affordable, I'll pass. I've got two bikes each capable of running over 180 mph and I just don't get warm fuzzies about that.
Now if anybody disagree's with me, you come to my house and I'll grill you a steak and potatoe, hand you a cold beer and say "It's okay, we all have our tastes".
I mean it damnit, I'll do it.

If I was going to chrome, we have two great shops here in Montreal that have done a lot of work for me in the past...their work holds better than OEM chrome and has more sheen to it as well....
Harley I have is all chrome, but then, that's all they're good for anyway IMO.
I am thinking about polish or black, either paint or powdercoat...not chrome though, don't want that look and don't want to weaken the metal to that extent either
