I wanted Carbon wheels until I done a little off roading action earlier this year and I changed my mind... If I would have had carbon wheels they would have broke I feel sure. I'll stick to Aluminum for my street stuff I think.

Good decision IMO.
the roads around here are shit.

That's always scared me too GUNNER...I know CF is strong, but I had the recall on the cracking wheels on the 10...and that was aluminum....I know that doesn't mean anything...but to me, CF is something you'd use for a tennis racket.

I do know it can't stand up t the elements as well as some treated metals. Look at a set of CF cans after a while...so I can't imagine using 'em for wheels.

I did now...so much for that ...maybe just strip and power coat or paint 'em black, or polish (PITA). Chrome won't get ya home!
The other option might be a set of '06 10R wheels. Have to check the sprocket bolt pattern to see that they fit.

Hey man if you powder them you won't have to strip them... They're powder from the factory and can be powdered over without stripping. You may want to strip them for weight savings. I had my girfriends 636 wheels powdered that way and they look perfect!

I you do either PM me for a guy's number that has some sweet bearings.... NOT ceramics but damn close and don't cost an arm and a leg either. They're a zero touch seal with very special grease.. They're unreal how much better they roll.

FBA...............does the 14 have the big axles?? If so it will need the 06 model 10R wheels.

Yes, the axles are really big (dia).
I held up the stock rear wheel with cush drive, sprocket, bearings and rotor in one hand while holding a 6" Carrozzeria wheel in the other. The CZ was trimmed out the same way.
OMG what a weight difference! Why would KHI put such heavy wheels on the 14?
The cost to convert my wheels over was $700 according to CZUSA.
I'm thinking PVM 5Y's might be the way to go. $1750 for the set.

An extra $150 for a bunch of color choices too.

I'd happily sport for some new wheels. I'm just not sure what I want but I do know they won't be brown.

BTW, CS You're still a punk to me, I'd much rather be an old codger like myself than a young punk with bad taste and an inferiority complex.

Hey Stalwart, Us old farts have to stick together.
I know a lot of guys here drag race their 14's. I figure I would if there was a 1/4 mile track anywhere around. Only 1/8 mile tracks down here in my area.
But then again I'd probably do pretty poorly at it. I think the last time that I drag raced a bike was back in the mid 70's. I had a Kawi H1 with a 750 motor stuffed into the frame. Even the 500 chambers mounted up to the 750 motor. That thing was a light switch.
Sorry for the thread hi-jack.

The PVM's are great wheels, I heard the Galespeed (sp?) wheels are very nice too and about the same price.

I'll probably do the wheels when I do tires, with my advanced age and ruptured disc, it might be a few months.
